Kyle Connor - Misses practice SaturdayConnor missed practice Saturday with an illness, according to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press.
ImpactConnor had 31 goals and 49 assists in 82 games last season, a great season for most, but a drop in his production from the previous year when he had 47 goals and 93 points in 79 contests. Connor is expected to be ready for Opening Night on Oct. 11 in Calgary. Look for Connor to pick up 40-plus goals and 85-plus points in 2023-24.

Gabriel Vilardi - Dealing with illnessVilardi didn't take part in Saturday's practice because of an illness, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
ImpactIt is unclear at this time if Vilardi will be ready to return the ice Sunday or play in Monday's preseason contest against Calgary. Consider him day-to-day for now. Vilardi is slated to open the 2023-24 campaign on Winnipeg's top line alongside Kyle Connor (illness) and Mark Scheifele.

Declan Chisholm - Suffers lower body injuryChisholm aggravated a lower-body injury Saturday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
ImpactChisholm isn't expected to break camp with the Jets and this injury certainly doesn't help his cause. Chisholm played a pair of games with the Jets in 2021-22 and spent all of last season at AHL Manitoba. The defenseman had five goals and 43 points in 59 AHL games last season.

Brady Tkachuk - Back at practice SaturdayTkachuk (face) is wearing a non-contact jersey at practice Saturday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
ImpactTkachuk was cut just above his eye earlier in the week and this is his first time back at practice after missing the last two days. Tkachuk had career highs in goals with 35 goals and assists with 48 in 2022-23. He should have similar or better numbers this season, if he remains healthy.
