Impressive in return from injury Nylander (undisclosed) had a goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over Vancouver on Saturday.

Impact Nylander had missed six games with a lower-body injury; it was his first game back. He stood out on the ice and almost got a second goal, only to miss the net on a wide-open play from an acute angle. Nylander has 15 goals, 29 assists and 69 shots in 34 games this season. Those shots stand out in a significant way -- they put him on pace for less than 150 shots on the season. Nylander has put up four straight 250-plus shot seasons, including one with 316. He's still a prolific scorer, so we're not concerned. But anyone who drafted him to pad their SOG category will be disappointed.

Activated from injured reserve Nylander (lower body) was taken off injured reserve Saturday and will join the lineup versus Vancouver, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Impact Nylander missed six games with the injury. The talented winger slumped through most of December before collecting a pair of goals and two assists Dec. 23 versus Pittsburgh. Nylander has 14 goals and 27 assists in 33 games this season.

Could return Saturday Head coach Craig Berube said Thursday that Nylander (lower body) could return to action against the Canucks on Saturday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.

Impact Nylander will remain sidelined for a sixth consecutive game Thursday against the Flyers, but he's progressing in his recovery process and could return to game action over the weekend. The 29-year-old had put up three multi-point games over his eight appearances leading up to his absence, recording three goals, six assists and a blocked shot while averaging 16:55 of ice time across that span.
