Formerly the offensive focal point of the Canadiens, who took him No. 22 overall in the 2007 draft, Pacioretty now finds himself on a Capitals team that is ranked seventh within the fiercely competitive Metropolitan Division. However, Pacioretty's current one-year, $4 million contract serves as a nice proving ground to see how much he has left in the tank before he'd officially become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.

Alex Ovechkin - Out Sunday Ovechkin (lower body) will not play Sunday against the Rangers, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Postreports.

Impact Ovechkin will miss the back half of a home-and-home set with the Rangers as he continues to recover from a lower-body injury sustained during a 6-2 loss to the Hurricanes on Jan. 5. The 38-year-old has a chance to return Tuesday against the Ducks, so fantasy managers should check back for updates in the interim. Max Pacioretty is expected to fill in on the top line alongside Dylan Strome and T.J. Oshie in the interim.

Impact Lindgren will get back-to-back matinee appearances after stopping 25 of 27 shots faced during Saturday's 3-2 win against the Rangers. The 30-year-old has been the more consistent of the Capitals two netminders and getting the call on back-to-back games indicates Lindgren will continue to have a significant role moving forward. Darcy Kuemper might be at the top of the depth chart, but Lindgren's stellar play (2.25 GAA, .928 save percentage) has turned Washington into a legitimate timeshare between the pipes.

T.J. Oshie - Pots game-winner Saturday Oshie scored the game-winning goal on four shots while adding two hits, a blocked shot and a plus-1 rating in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Impact The veteran winger snuck behind the New York defense and tapped home a Dylan Strome pass midway through the third period to give Washington its only lead of the afternoon. Oshie's had trouble staying healthy since late November, playing only six of the Caps' last 23 games, and on the the season he's managed just three goals and five points in 23 contests. He still has a top-six role and spot on the first power-play unit when he's on the ice though, and the 37-year-old might be able to put together a solid second half.

Impact The 30-year-old netminder looked sharp in his return from an upper body injury that had sidelined him since Dec. 29, and Adam Fox was the only New York player to get a puck past him. Lindgren had moved into the top spot on the Caps' depth chart prior to his injury, posting a 2.27 GAA and .921 save percentage over seven outings in December before getting injury, and he'll likely regain it soon enough with Darcy Kuemper struggling badly since Christmas (4.26 GAA and .870 save percentage over his last six starts.)
