Impact It was Tanev's first game back from an upper-body injury that caused him to miss nine games. He now has 17 blocked shots, four hits and two shots in seven games. Tanev is a defensive stalwart on the Leafs blue line. His return is more valuable to his netminders than fantasy managers.

Leevi Meriläinen - Strong performance again Merilainen stopped 24 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs on Saturday. He allowed three goals.

Impact Merilainen has badly outplayed starter, Kevin Lankinen, and is 2-5-1 with a 3.31 GAA and .897 save percentage in nine starts (11 appearances). Those numbers aren't as bad as they look -- the NHL average for save percentage is .891. Merilainen is typically hung out to dry most nights, but he hangs in there and gives the Orcas a chance. Plus his 5.45 GSAx is 16th in the NHL. He's making the most of this opportunity and is worth monitoring for future drafts when the team improves.

Anthony Stolarz - Third straight win Stolarz made 26 saves in a 4-2 win over the Canucks on Saturday.

Impact Stolarz has delivered three straight wins with just two goals allowed in each contest. He's 5-1-0 in six starts overall, and his 2.66 GAA and .910 save percentage sparkle relative to a lot of goalies in the league, including his battery mate, Sergei Bobrovsky, who is 3-5-2 with a 3.29 GAA and .885 save percentage. Stolarz is not going to replace Bob anytime soon, but he will see a solid amount of starts this season to keep the starter healthy heading into the postseason. That is, should the Leafs get there.

Impact Blueger played three seasons (185 games) in Vancouver before signing last summer with Toronto. He's always one of the hardest workers on the ice, and he has four points (two goals, two assists) in his last five games. Unfortunately, those are the only points he has in 16 games overall. Blueger has 23 hits and 18 shots in a bottom-six role.
