Impact Vilen is ready to return to action after sustaining an injury in New Jersey's penultimate preseason game. The 21-year-old rearguard registered two goals and 29 points in 54 regular-season outings for AHL Utica in 2023-24. He will probably spend most, if not all, of the 2024-25 campaign in the minors.

Assigned to AHL Vilen was demoted to AHL Utica by the Devils on Friday, Mike Morreale of NHL.com reports.

Impact Filip Engaras, T.J. Friedmann, Joe Gambardella, Timur Ibragimov, Xavier Parent, Ryan Schmelzer, Colin Felix, Will MacKinnon, Robbie Russo and Tyler Brennan were also reassigned to Utica. Vilen played in one playoff game for Utica last season, after he played a full season for the Pelicans of the Finnish-liiga.

Joins AHL Utica Vilen was assigned from the Liiga's Pelicans to AHL Utica on Monnday.

Impact Vilen will join Utica for the remainder of the Calder Cup playoffs. The 2021 fifth-round pick collected nine goals and 17 points through 41 games with the Pelicans before being assigned to the Devils' AHL affiliate.
