Mason McTavish signs a 6 year deal with the Ducks | NHL.com The NHL Tonight crew discuss the Ducks signing Mason McTavish to a six year deal
OCTOBER 1 • NHL.COM
Oliver Wahlstrom - Released from tryout Wahlstrom was released from his professional tryout agreement with the Sharks on Tuesday.
Impact Wahlstrom will now link up with AHL San Jose, as he's signed to a minor-league deal for the 2025-26 season. The No. 11 overall selection in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft will look to put together a strong campaign with the Barracuda in effort to be a potential call-up if the Sharks need his services due to injuries throughout the year. Wahlstrom accumulated nine goals and 15 points over 19 regular-season outings with AHL Providence in 2024-25.

Jimmy Huntington - Waived by San Jose Huntington was designated for waivers by the Sharks on Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Impact Huntington has never appeared in an NHL game, so he most likely will not be claimed on the waiver wire. The 26-year-old suited up for just four games with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last year, supplying one goal, four points and a plus-2 rating.

Samuel Laberge - Moves to waivers Laberge was put on waivers Tuesday, per PuckPedia.
Impact Laberge had three goals, one assist and 76 PIM across 38 regular-season appearances for AHL Utica in 2024-25. Assuming he clears waivers, he will likely spend most, if not all, of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors.

Oskar Olausson - Waived by club Olausson landed on the waiver wire Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Impact Even with the youth movement being in full force for the Sharks, the 22-year-old Olausson doesn't seem NHL-ready at this point in his career. The 22-year-old winger suited up in 61 regular-season games for AHL Colorado last year, notching 11 goals and 15 helpers before adding three assists in seven playoff tilts. While Olausson should see some minutes of NHL action this year, he is unlikely to play enough to make him much of a fantasy target.

Shane Bowers - Let go by San Jose Bowers was placed on waivers by the Sharks on Tuesday, according to James Mirtle of The Athletic.
Impact Bowers will report to AHL San Jose if he doesn't find a new team via the waiver wire. The 2017 first-round pick (No. 28 overall) appeared in just four regular-season games with New Jersey last year, though he suited up for 65 outings with AHL Utica, notching three goals and 17 points.

Jakub Skarek - Placed on waivers Tuesday Skarek was waived by the Sharks on Tuesday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.
Impact Skarek was not expected to start the year on the NHL roster after the team acquired Alex Nedeljkovic over the summer to serve as the No. 2 option behind Yaroslav Askarov. While Skarek was able to make his NHL debut last year, logging two games for the Islanders, he remains a long-term project for fantasy players -- one that may not pan out if he doesn't start getting opportunities soon.
