Set for stint on IR Reaves (upper body) was put on injured reserve Tuesday, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Impact Reaves now won't be an option until at least the beginning of March, as he'll be unable to play in San Jose's next three games, two of which will be at the end of February following the 2026 Winter Olympics. The 39-year-old's placement on injured reserve has opened up a roster spot for the Sharks, which could pave the way for Kiefer Sherwood (upper body) to be activated from his own IR stint and make his debut with the team Wednesday in Colorado.

Impact Head coach Ryan Warsofsky wouldn't rule Reaves out for Wednesday's game, but the winger didn't practice Tuesday, so it seems unlikely he will be an option against the Avalanche. Reaves has failed to register a point in his last 14 outings, going minus-5 in that span, so his injury is unlikely to affect the majority of fantasy managers.

Impact Reaves got to the front of the net and tallied the opening goal at 6:11 of the first period. The 38-year-old winger was scratched for a couple of games earlier in December, and his tally Saturday ended a 23-game point drought than spanned two months. He plays on the fourth line when he's in the lineup, and he's earned just three goals with 18 shots on net, 113 hits, 21 PIM and a minus-7 rating across 32 appearances this season.
