Released by Ducks Dionicio was placed on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract Tuesday.

Impact Dionicio was just one year into a three-year, entry-level deal he signed with the DUcks back in May of 2024. The 21-year-old defenseman split his time between AHL San Diego and Swiss club Biel HC, compiling a combined 15 points in 33 contests. Selected by Anaheim in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft, Dionicio will likely head back to Europe to continue his professional career.

Secures ELC Dionicio signed a three-year, entry-level deal with the Ducks on Friday.

Impact Dionicio was a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In 60 OHL games with Saginaw and Windsor this season, he racked up 25 goals, 73 points and 108 PIM. He later added 17 points in 17 postseason appearances. Dionicio should spend next season with AHL San Diego with his eyes on an NHL debut in the relatively near future.
