Bill Zonnon - Facing four-week absence
Zonnon (undisclosed) will be sidelined for four weeks with his undisclosed injury, Dave Molinari of Pittsburgh Hockey Now reports Thursday.
Impact
Zonnon's absence from the entirety of the preseason all but guarantees he will head back to QMJHL Blainville-Boisbriand for the 2025-26 campaign. Selected by the Pens in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old winger was always going to face an uphill battle to secure a roster spot. Still, fantasy players in dynasty/keeper formats may want to keep an eye on the youngster, as he should be in contention to make a jump to the NHL ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Noel Acciari - Dealing with core muscle injury
Acciari will miss the start of training camp due to a core muscle injury, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports Thursday.
Impact
According to Dave Molinari of Pittsburgh Hockey Now, Acciari is still expected back during preseason, so he should be cleared before Opening Night against the Rangers on Oct. 7. When in the lineup last year, the 33-year-old Acciari notched five goals, seven assists and 75 shots in 79 regular-season contests. With the Pens looking to get younger this year, Acciari could find himself serving plenty of time in the press box as a healthy scratch.

Rutger McGroarty - Sidelined indefinitely
McGroarty will be out indefinitely with an upper-body injury, Michelle Crechiolo of the Penguins' official site reports Thursday.
Impact
While the team didn't offer any specifics, McGroarty's status for Opening Night against the Rangers on Oct. 7 seems to be in doubt. Once cleared to play, the 21-year-old winger should be in the mix for a middle-six role and could push even further up the depth chart if Bryan Rust or Rickard Rakell gets traded at some point. For now, tryout signee Robby Fabbri could benefit the most from some extra minutes.

Jake Livingstone - Gets PTO chance
Livingstone will attend the Penguins' training camp after signing a professional tryout prior to camp opening Thursday.
Impact
Livingstone has just five games of NHL experience under his belt from the 2022-23 season. The 26-year-old blueliner will likely have to settle for a two-way contract at best if he's able to impress the Penguins' brass during camp. He had just 16 points in 59 regular-season games with AHL Milwaukee last year.

ROTOWIRE
Callahan Burke - Secures PTO agreement
Burke will attend the Penguins' training camp after signing a professional tryout prior to Thursday's first on-ice session.
Impact
Burke spent most of last season with AHL Henderson, earning 19 points in 60 games, as well as one goal over seven appearances with the Golden Knights. He had a two-way contract in 2024-25, and that is likely to be the best-case scenario for him if the Penguins see enough to extend a full contract.

ROTOWIRE
Robby Fabbri - Getting tryout with Pittsburgh
Fabbri will attend the Penguins' training camp after signing a professional tryout agreement before camp opens Thursday.
Impact
Fabbri was limited to 16 points in 44 appearances in his lone season with the Ducks. A hand injury cut short his time in Anaheim, and he'll now attempt to secure a full contract as a veteran who will challenge some of the Penguins' younger wingers. Fabbri has previously found success as a power-play option in his earlier stops, which could be his path to Pittsburgh's NHL roster if he has a strong camp.

ROTOWIRE
Rafael Harvey-Pinard - Ready for training camp
Harvey-Pinard (upper body) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Impact
Harvey-Pinard is set to compete for a fourth-line role for the Penguins after the Canadiens declined to give him a qualifying offer in June. The 26-year-old winger saw action in just one NHL game in 2024-25, so it's likely he'll see some time with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season.

ROTOWIRE
Bokondji Imama - Recovers from surgery
Imama (biceps) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Impact
Imama underwent biceps surgery in March with a timeline of 4-6 months for his return. It appears he was able to maintain the shorter end of that timeline, which means he is not expected to be limited to begin training camp. The 29-year-old winger will compete for a fourth-line role and could make the Opening Night roster as a source of physical play after racking up 45 hits and 30 PIM over 16 NHL games last season.

ROTOWIRE
Kevin Hayes - Healthy to begin camp
Hayes (lower body) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Impact
Hayes missed the Penguins' regular-season finale in 2024-25 due to the injury, but it was apparently never a long-term issue. The 33-year-old will be in contention for a bottom-six spot, and he may have a clearer path if Noel Acciari (undisclosed) remains hurt throughout camp.

ROTOWIRE
Thomas Novak - Good to go for first practice
Novak (lower body) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Impact
Novak was sidelined for over a month to end the 2024-25 season. He had 22 points over 54 contests between the Penguins and the Predators last year. Novak is set to fill a middle-six role, but it remains to be seen if he'll primarily work as the third-line center or a second-line winger early in 2025-26.

ROTOWIRE
Kris Letang - Appears ready for training camp
Letang (chest) is not listed among the injured players on the Penguins' training camp roster released Wednesday.
Impact
Letang underwent a procedure in April to repair a small hole in his heart. The 38-year-old defense is set for his 20th campaign with the Penguins, and assuming he can get through camp healthy, he should be penciled in for time in a top-four role and on one of the power-play units.

ROTOWIRE
Rutger McGroarty - Not ready for main camp
McGroarty (undisclosed) won't be available for Thursday's on-ice practice session to begin training camp.
Impact
The Penguins have yet to reveal any specifics around McGroarty's injury, which also caused him to miss the Penguins' Prospect Challenge. The 21-year-old winger is not medically cleared to play yet, and a longer absence during camp could negatively impact his chances of making the Penguins' Opening Night roster.

ROTOWIRE
Noel Acciari - Still not cleared to play
Acciari (undisclosed) has not been medically cleared to participate in training camp, which begins Thursday.
Impact
Acciari was ruled out with a week left in the 2024-25 regular season with an undisclosed issue, and it's a concern that he's still not ready to play. When healthy, he would slot in as a fourth-line and penalty-killing forward. He had 12 points, 180 hits, 100 blocked shots and a minus-25 rating over 79 games in a similar role last season.
