Tristan Jarry - Leaves ice first

Impact
Jarry had been struggling but enters Tuesday's contest having conceded just two goals on 29 shots (.931 save percentage) in an overtime win against the Rangers on Sunday. In his previous six career matchups with Montreal, the netminder is 4-1-1 with a 2.33 GAA and .920 save percentage.

Dmitry Kulikov - Considered week-to-week
Kulikov (lower body) was labeled week-to-week by coach Mike Sullivan on Tuesday, Wes Crosby of NHL.com reports.
Impact
Kulikov joins fellow trade deadline acquisition Nick Bonino (abdomen) on the shelf with longer-term problems. With Kulikov sidelined, youngster Pierre-Olivier Joseph will step back into the lineup after being a healthy scratch for the previous three games. Once given the green light to return, the 32-year-old Kulikov should be in contention to reclaim his place in the lineup.

Ryan Poehling - Nearing return to action
Poehling (upper body) was a full practice participant Tuesday but won't be in the lineup against Montreal. Coach Mike Sullivan told reporters, "He participated this morning in a fu...
Impact
Poehling was last in action for the Pens back on Feb. 11 against the Kings. The 24-year-old center has played in just 38 games this season in which he recorded five goals, six assists and 49 hits while averaging 10:57 of ice time. Even once fully fit, Poehling is far from a lock for the lineup on a nightly basis, especially once Nick Bonino (abdomen) is cleared to play.

Evgeni Malkin - Extends streak in loss
Malkin tallied a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Canadiens.
Impact
Both of Malkin's points came on the power play, extending Pittsburgh's lead to 2-0 in the first period before adding an assist on Jake Guentzel's tally in the second. Malkin now has points in six straight games, with a goal and nine assists in that span. The 36-year-old forward is up to 72 points (24 goals, 48 assists) through 67 contests this season.

Kris Letang - Three points in loss
Letang tallied a goal and two assists in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to Montreal.
Impact
Letang set up Evgeni Malkin's power-play goal in the first period before scoring in the second, firing a shot through traffic that found its way to the back of the net. He'd add a third point later in the frame with another power-play helper on Jake Guentzel's tally. Letang continues to offer solid production from the blue line in his age-35 season, with 10 goals and 24 assists through 49 games.

Jake Guentzel - Three more points Tuesday
Guentzel logged two goals and an assist in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Canadiens.
Impact
Guentzel opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the game, stuffing a rebound behind Sam Montembeault. Guentzel would add an assist on Evgeni Malkin's power-play tally later in the frame before scoring a power-play marker of his own in the third. The 28-year-old Guentzel has five goals and three assists in his last six games. He's up to 61 points (29 goals, 32 assists) through 63 contests this season.

Casey DeSmith - Takes loss in relief
DeSmith stopped 13 of 14 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Canadiens.
Impact
DeSmith took over in the second period after Tristan Jarry allowed four goals in the opening frame. DeSmith was sharp, holding Montreal off the board in the second while Pittsburgh scored twice to tie the game 4-4. However, the 31-year-old netminder allowed an Anthony Richard goal early in the third period before the Habs added an empty-netter, sticking him with a 6-4 loss. DeSmith has played well of late, going 3-2-0 with a .932 save percentage over his last six appearances. He's now 13-14-4 with a .908 save percentage on the season.

Tristan Jarry - Early shower Tuesday
Jarry allowed four goals on seven shots before being pulled following the first period of Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Canadiens.
Impact
It was a tough night for Jarry, who allowed four unanswered goals in the first period before he was replaced by Casey DeSmith to start the second. Jarry was spared the loss, however, as the Penguins would tie the game 4-4 in the second before ultimately falling 6-4. The 27-year-old netminder is 20-7-6 with a .910 save percentage on the season. He may get a chance to bounce back Thursday when the Penguins visit the Rangers.
