Samuel Ersson - Facing Blackhawks Ersson will defend the home crease versus Chicago on Saturday, according to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Impact Ersson is 21-15-7 with a 2.73 GAA and an .895 save percentage as the Flyers' No. 1 goaltender this season. He will face a battle for the job from Russian netminder Ivan Fedotov, who joined the team Friday and should get his first NHL start next week. Ersson will face the Blackhawks, who are last in NHL scoring, averaging 2.18 goals.

Impact The Flyers inked Russian netminder Ivan Fedotov to a contract Friday, and sent Sandstrom to the minors in a corresponding move. Sandstrom was 1-2-0 with a 3.88 GAA and a very weak .823 save percentage in five appearances with the Flyers this season.

Owen Tippett - Ties career high with 27th goal Tippett scored the Flyers' lone goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens.
Impact The 25-year-old winger spoiled a shutout bid for Cayden Primeau, snapping the puck home from the faceoff dot with just over a minute left in the third period and Philadelphia's net empty. Tippett has gotten onto the scoresheet in eight of the last nine contests, racking up five goals and 11 points, and on the season he's exactly tied his career-high production from 2022-23 with 27 goals and 49 points. The Flyers have eight games left on their schedule for Tippett to establish new personal bests.

Impact The 24-year-old netminder wasn't busy, but the Habs took advantage of their chances -- both pucks that beat Ersson came from in close, as the Flyers' defense gave Nick Suzuki and Jesse Ylonen a little too much space in front of the net. Ersson has seen a heavy workload in March, going 4-4-3 over 11 starts with a 3.34 GAA and .875 save percentage as Philly clings to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Impact Fedotov's journey to the NHL has been a complicated one, as it included mandatory military service and a suspension from the IIHF for violating the teams of his NHL contract. Still, the 27-year-old netminder has been much coveted by the team after it drafted him in the seventh round of the NHL Draft. While Samuel Ersson figures to continue seeing the majority of the starts for the Flyers down the stretch, Fedotov should get some opportunities as well.
