The 24-year-old hasn't made his NHL debut, but perhaps he'll draw into the lineup Saturday versus Buffalo if Barkov (lower body) is unavailable after being hurt during Thursday's 3-1 loss to Ottawa.

Headed to AHL Giles is not on Florida's Opening Night roster, according to David Dwork of The Hockey News on Monday.

Impact Giles will report to AHL Charlotte as a result of being waivers exempt -- the 24-year-old provided 23 points in 66 regular-season contests with the Checkers in 2023-24. The right-shot forward will look to make his first NHL appearance in 2024-25 if he can continue developing his game in the minors.
