He was terrible two days later, giving up four goals on 13 shots before he was pulled late in the opening period versus Vancouver. Forsberg was once again solid Saturday, stopping 43 shots in a 3-1 loss in Edmonton. Overall, Forsberg is 7-8-0 with a 3.34 GAA and an .889 save percentage. He will face the Sabres, who are 19th in goals scored this season, after finishing third in the NHL in 2022-23.

Impact Norris is currently mired in a seven-game pointless streak despite registering 16 shots on net over that stretch. With the 24-year-old center on the shelf, Tim Stutzle will move up to the first power-play unit. In terms of the full lineup, Ottawa will either need to bring a forward up from the minors or roll with seven defensemen Thursday. Shane Pinto - Allowed to resume practicing Pinto (suspension), who is still a restricted free agent, is allowed to resume practicing with the Senators, Bruce Garrioch of The Ottawa Sun reports Wednesday.

Impact Pinto will complete his 41-game suspension, which he received because of activities related to sports wagering, in time for Ottawa's game against Philadelphia on Jan. 21, but he can't play until he signs a new contract. Under normal circumstances, a restricted free agent who didn't sign before Dec. 1 would be ineligible to play for the remainder of the season, but that rule was waived due to Pinto's suspension. The 23-year-old had 20 goals and 35 points in 82 outings this year.
