Impact Hamonic has two helpers over his last five contests. The 34-year-old defenseman is rarely a source of consistent offense -- his defensive play is what keeps him in the lineup in a top-four role. For the season, he's at three assists, 45 shots on net, 57 blocked shots, 35 hits and a minus-8 rating over 35 appearances.

Impact Sanderson has a goal and six helpers over his last nine outings, a span in which he's also gone plus-2. The 22-year-old defenseman struggled in his own zone and at even strength earlier in the year, but his play has come around over time. For the season, he has 21 points (13 on the power play), 76 shots on net, 71 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating through 36 appearances, but he's trending in the right direction.

Drake Batherson - Picks up power-play helper Batherson notched a power-play assist in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Wild.
Impact Batherson has gone six games without a goal but has earned a helper in three of the last four contests. The winger has 12 points over 13 outings in December, and he's maintained a point-per-game pace with 13 goals and 23 assists through 36 appearances this season. He's added 78 shots on net, 54 hits, 18 power-play points and a minus-2 rating while seeing consistent top-six minutes and time on the first power-play unit.

Claude Giroux - Deposits empty-netter Giroux scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Wild.
Impact Giroux continues to be productive -- he has two goals and four assists over his last seven contests. He's done that with a slightly reduced role on the third line, though he continues to see time on the power play. The 36-year-old forward is at nine goals, 24 points, 69 shots on net, 33 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 36 outings this season.

Impact Greig found the twine in the early stages of the second period, giving him five goals in the campaign. He's undoubtedly going through his most productive stretch of the season, though, finding the back of the net in three of his last four contests and cracking the scoresheet four times in the last six.

Impact Norris found the twine midway through the third period to give the Senators a 2-1 lead before Claude Giroux closed things out with an empty-netter. This was Norris' 14th goal of the season, and it was the second time he scored in his last four games. However, he's been trending in the wrong direction lately after an impressive start to the campaign. Over his previous 10 contests, Norris has netted just five points, though three of them have come on the power play.

Leevi Merilainen - Solid showing vs. Minnesota Merilainen stopped 30 of 31 shots in Sunday's 3-1 win over Minnesota.
Impact The 22-year-old netminder has made three appearances this season and has posted a solid 2-1-0 record while giving up two of fewer goals in two of those outings. His save percentage isn't very high since he posted a figure below the .860 mark in his first two outings, though, so there's not enough evidence to assess what he might bring to the table. However, this was certainly an improved effort compared to his previous two outings.
