Hunter Shepard - Called up Thursday Shepard was recalled from AHL Belleville on Thursday.
Impact Shepard was sent to the AHL in late January, but he'll rejoin the Senators ahead of their final game before the Olympic break since Linus Ullmark (illness) will be unavailable. James Reimer will serve as the starter during Thursday's road matchup against Philadelphia, while Shepard will serve as the backup before presumably returning to the minors.

James Reimer - Starting against Philadelphia Reimer will defend the road crease against Philadelphia on Thursday.
Impact Reimer struggled on the road against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, allowing four goals on 19 shots (.789 save percentage) in a 4-3 regulation loss. However, he'll draw a second consecutive start leading up to the Olympic break since Linus Ullmark (illness) will be unavailable, while Hunter Shepard was recalled from AHL Belleville to serve as the backup netminder. The Flyers are tied for 21st in the NHL with 2.93 goals per game this year.

Linus Ullmark - Won't play Thursday Ullmark has been ruled out for Thursday's road game against Philadelphia due to flu-like symptoms.
Impact Ullmark returned from a 14-game absence in late January and has picked up wins in each of his two starts since getting back on the ice, posting a 1.50 GAA and .930 save percentage during that time. However, he'll be unavailable for the Senators' final game before the Olympic break, while James Reimer will draw the start. Hunter Shepard was called up by Ottawa to provide additional depth Thursday, but Ullmark will presumably be able to return when the Senators resume play Feb. 26 against Detroit.

Nikolas Matinpalo - Seeing little playing time Matinpalo was scratched for the 16th time in 18 games in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact That span is from the start of January. Matinpalo sat just once during December, but Jordan Spence has claimed a larger share of playing time since the calendar flipped to 2026. Matinpalo has earned four assists, 19 shots on net, 27 hits, 33 blocked shots and 10 PIM over 30 NHL outings this season. The 27-year-old defenseman could get an uptick in usage while representing Finland at the Olympics, though the national team has six other NHL-level blueliners on the roster as well.

Stephen Halliday - Tallies in loss Halliday scored a goal, doled out three hits and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact Halliday opened the scoring at 2:46 of the first period. The 23-year-old is carving out a regular spot on the fourth line with four goals and an assist over his last six outings during his most recent call-up from the AHL. Overall, he's earned 11 points, 26 shots on net, 28 hits and a plus-1 rating in 24 appearances despite averaging 8:10 of ice time.

Tim Stutzle - Strikes on power play in loss Stutzle scored a power-play goal on three shots and went minus-3 in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact Stutzle has scored in four straight games and has a total of five goals and four helpers during a six-game point streak. The 24-year-old is up to 27 goals, 60 points (19 on the power play), 144 shots on net, 87 hits, 38 blocked shots, 31 PIM and a plus-5 rating across 56 outings. He'll look to take this momentum with him to the Olympics, where he'll play for Germany, assuming he gets through Thursday's contest versus the Flyers without an injury.

Jake Sanderson - Two-point effort Tuesday Sanderson produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to Carolina.
Impact The blueliner's tally early in the third period tied the game at 3-3, but the Senators' comeback attempt stalled out. Sanderson has been surging toward the Olympic break, and over the last 11 games he's racked up three goals and 13 points, including a goal and four assists with the man advantage. Tuesday's goal was also his 11th of the season, tying his career high.

Dylan Cozens - Two helpers in Tuesday's loss Cozens picked up two power-play assists in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact The helpers came late in the second period and early in the third as Ottawa rallied from a 3-1 deficit before eventually falling short. Cozens has been impressive of late, collecting six goals and 12 points over the last 11 games with exactly half of that production (three goals, three assists) coming on the power play.

Impact The veteran netminder hasn't looked like much of a solution between the pipes for the Senators. Reimer has given up four goals in four of his six starts since being added to the NHL roster in mid-January, going 2-3-1 with a 3.22 GAA and .861 save percentage.
