Earns two-year deal Allan signed a two-year contract with the Sharks on Tuesday.

Impact Allan was acquired by the Sharks from the Blackhawks in January but didn't get into a game with either team in 2025-26. The 2021 No. 32 overall pick spent the entirety of the year in the minors, putting up two goals and six points over 29 games with AHL Rockford, in addition to producing two goals and 14 points across 35 regular-season games with AHL San Jose. The Sharks have several pending unrestricted free agents on the blue line, so Allan has an opportunity to be an NHL regular in 2026-27, depending on how the organization proceeds come July 1.

Returned to AHL Allan was loaned to AHL San Jose on Sunday.

Impact The Sharks recalled Nick Leddy from the minors in a corresponding move. Allan has two goals and 10 points in 20 AHL appearances this season. He hasn't seen any NHL action yet during the 2025-26 campaign.

MARCH 8 • ROTOWIRE

Set for call-up Allan will be recalled from AHL San Jose prior to Saturday's game versus the Islanders, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Impact Allan has produced 16 points in 49 AHL appearances between the Barracuda and AHL Rockford this season. He was traded from the Blackhawks in January. Allan's promotion comes as the Sharks partially cleared a logjam on their blue line by sending Timothy Liljegren to the Capitals on Friday, so it's not yet clear if Allan will get steady playing time in the NHL.

Impact Allan got his first taste of NHL action last year by appearing in 43 regular-season games for Chicago and racking up a goal, seven assists, 61 hits, 48 blocked shots and 16 PIM while averaging 15:08 of ice time. He's logged two goals, four assists and 39 PIM over 29 appearances with AHL Rockford to begin the 2025-26 campaign, and he'll have a change of scenery heading into the second half of the season. The Sharks' blueliners are dealing with several injuries, so it's possible that Allan will join the NHL club at some point.

JANUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE

Posts two points in AHL win Allan scored a goal and added an assist in AHL Rockford's 4-3 win over Texas on Friday.

Impact Allan doubled his point total for the year. His goal was his first of the season, and he's produced four points, 23 shots on net and 22 PIM through 16 appearances. The Blackhawks have regularly dressed seven defensemen at the NHL level this year, so one injury on the blue line wouldn't force a roster move. Even if they were to make a call-up, Allan has to compete with Ethan Del Mastro and Kevin Korchinski for an opportunity with the big club.

Sent to AHL Allan was loaned to AHL Rockford on Friday, Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio reports.

Impact Allan was a healthy scratch Thursday in Vegas, the sixth time in his last eight games he has sat in the press box. The 21-year-old needs to play and he will get every chance to do so with the IceHogs. Allan had one goal, seven assists, 61 hits and 48 blocked shots across 43 games with Chicago. The Blackhawks recalled Wyatt Kaiser in a corresponding move Friday.

FEBRUARY 28, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Playing time dropping Allan was out of the lineup for the sixth time in nine games in Friday's 6-2 win over the Predators.

Impact Allan played regularly in December and early January, but his role has been reduced lately. Louis Crevier (concussion) is out of the lineup, but Ethan Del Mastro has often played ahead of Allan recently. For the season, Allan has eight points, 15 shots on net, 59 hits, 41 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating over 41 appearances. The 21-year-old could be assigned to AHL Rockford eventually to avoid having him sit around without playing for too long.

Contributes helper in loss Allan provided an assist, three hits and three blocked shots in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Red Wings.

Impact Allan ended an eight-game point drought when he set up the first of Teuvo Teravainen's two goals in the third period. The 21-year-old Allan continues to stick in the lineup, but he's been limited to the third pairing. He has seven points, 12 shots on net, 14 PIM, 45 hits, 31 blocked shots and a minus-9 rating across 35 outings, which isn't enough production in any area to be helpful in most fantasy formats.

JANUARY 11, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

First goal of season in win Allen recorded a goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Kraken.

Impact Allen found the twine with his lone shot in the game, and his goal closed out the scoring in the latter stages of the third period. The 21-year-old blueliner has recorded points in two of his last three appearances, but those have been his first points since Nov. 16, so he doesn't have enough consistency to be a reliable fantasy option in most formats.

DECEMBER 20, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Snags assist Sunday Allan posted an assist and two PIM in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Islanders.

Impact Allan had gone nine games without a point and was scratched three times during that stretch. The 21-year-old blueliner continues to log bottom-four minutes and frequently fills more of a defensive role. He's at five assists, 25 hits, 22 blocked shots, 12 PIM, eight shots on goal and a minus-5 rating through 24 appearances as a rookie.

DECEMBER 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Grabs helper in loss Allan notched an assist and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Canucks.

Impact Allan was scratched Thursday versus the Kraken, but the 21-year-old returned to the lineup with Seth Jones (foot) landing on injured reserve. Allan's spot may not be secure -- Louis Crevier was called up from AHL Rockford to provide depth on the blue line. Through 14 outings this season, Allan has four assists, six shots on net, 13 hits, nine blocked shots and a minus-4 rating.

NOVEMBER 17, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Produces assist in shootout win Allan notched an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Kings.

Impact Allan has earned three assists over his last five games. The 21-year-old is likely performing above his expected level on offense given he's seeing an average of 12:59 of ice time per game this season on the third pairing. The blueliner has added four shots on net, four hits, five blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through nine appearances.

NOVEMBER 3, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Earns first career assist Allan notched an assist and two PIM in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Predators.

Impact The helper was Allan's first career point in five NHL appearances. The 21-year-old blueliner has stayed on the third pairing when in the lineup, giving him minimal scoring upside. He's added four shots on net, three hits, one blocked shots and a minus-2 rating. Allan projects as more of a stay-at-home defenseman at the NHL level, so he's unlikely to be on the fantasy radar most of the time.

OCTOBER 26, 2024 • ROTOWIRE

Collects two points Allan scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-3 in Saturday's 6-2 preseason win over the Blues.

Impact Allan has a chance to make the Blackhawks' Opening Night roster as a seventh defenseman. The 21-year-old put up a respectable 17 points in 60 games with AHL Rockford last season, his first year of pro hockey. His game is based on being reliable in his own zone and an effective shutdown defender, which will likely translate to third-pairing usage once he's a full-time NHLer.
