INJURIES

Returning to minors Kokko was sent down to AHL Coachella Valley on Friday.
Impact Kokko saw action in three NHL games during his stint with the Kraken, posting a 1-2-0 record and 3.03 GAA. The Finnish netminder put up much better numbers with the Firebirds, going 18-10-2 with a .903 save percentage in 34 minor-league outings. With both Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer under contract next year, Kokko figures to be hard-pressed to see significant opportunities in the NHL.

Fades in third period Kokko allowed four goals on 26 shots in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Golden Knights.
Impact That's now consecutive losses for Kokko after he won his NHL season debut Saturday versus the Flames. He's allowed nine goals on 82 shots while going 1-2-0. The Kraken are back in action Thursday versus the Avalanche, and it's unclear which direction Seattle will go for goaltending in that contest. The healthy options on the roster are Kokko or Victor Ostman.
APRIL 16 • ROTOWIRE
Starting in Vegas Kokko will guard the road goal versus the Golden Knights on Wednesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.
Impact Kokko is 1-1-0 with five goals allowed on 56 shots over the last two games while he fills in at the NHL level. This will be his third straight start, and it's not clear if the Kraken would ask him to go again Thursday versus the Avalanche if Joey Daccord (lower body) and Philipp Grubauer (lower body) both remain out.
APRIL 16 • ROTOWIRE
Gives up four goals Kokko stopped 25 of 29 shots in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Kings. The fifth goal was an empty-netter with two seconds left in the game.
Impact Kokko made his second straight start since both Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Joey Daccord (lower body) are sidelined. Unlike Saturday when he recorded a win over the Flames, though, he couldn't come out on top this time around. Through two starts, Kokko has stopped 51 of 56 shots faced, and he's likely to remain as the No. 1 option between the pipes in at least one of Seattle's final two games of the regular season. The Kraken are playing the Golden Knights on Wednesday and the Avalanche on Thursday.
APRIL 14 • ROTOWIRE
Hits ice first Monday Kokko will defend the home crease in Monday's clash against the Kings, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Impact Kokko will look to follow up his strong performance in Saturday's game, which resulted in his first career NHL win. He stopped 26 shots and allowed just one goal, giving him momentum ahead of Monday. The 22-year-old netminder came by the opportunity to start down the stretch with both Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Joey Deccord (lower body) sidelined. Kokko will clash with the Kings, who rank 29th in the NHL with 2.67 goals per game this season.
APRIL 14 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up first NHL win Kokko stopped 26 of 27 shots in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Flames.
Impact This was Kokko's second NHL appearance and his first start, and he took care of business in a soft matchup. The 22-year-old is getting an unexpected look late in the season since the Kraken are without Joey Daccord (lower body), Philipp Grubauer (lower body) and Matt Murray (personal). The Kraken have three games left on the schedule, coming over a four-day span, so Kokko should be penciled in for at least one more appearance if Daccord and Grubauer remain out. Kokko would likely get two games if Murray is also away from the team for the last week of the season. Next up is the home finale versus the Kings on Monday.
APRIL 12 • ROTOWIRE
Set for first NHL start Kokko will patrol the home crease against Calgary on Saturday, per Sound of Hockey.
Impact Due to the absences of Joey Daccord (lower body) and Philipp Grubauer (lower body), Kokko appears poised to make his first NHL start. The 22-year-old Kokko made a relief appearance against St. Louis on Feb. 25, 2025, and he allowed two goals on six shots in a 7-2 loss. He has gone 18-10-2 with a 3.10 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 34 AHL appearances this season.
APRIL 11 • ROTOWIRE
Recalled from AHL Kokko was summoned from AHL Coachella Valley on an emergency basis Thursday.
Impact Kokko was recalled as Philipp Grubauer is day-to-day with a lower-body injury while Matt Murray left the team to take care of a family matter. That leaves Joey Daccord as the only goalie available Thursday versus Vegas, necessitating the recall of Kokko. Kokko had an 18-10-2 record with a 3.10 GAA and a .903 save percentage across 34 AHL games this season. He made his NHL debut last season, allowing two goals on six shots in relief of Joey Daccord in a 7-2 loss to St. Louis.
APRIL 9 • ROTOWIRE
Earns AHL shutout Friday Kokko logged a 21-save shutout in AHL Coachella Valley's 2-0 win over Abbotsford on Friday.
Impact This was Kokko's second shutout of the season. He's struggled quite a bit this year, going 18-10-2 with a 3.10 GAA and a .903 save percentage over 34 appearances despite similar a similar workload to last year. Kokko has improved lately with seven wins over his last 10 outings, but he's allowed five goals in each of his three losses in that span.
APRIL 4 • ROTOWIRE
Posts shutout Friday Kokko posted a 31-save shutout in AHL Coachella Valley's 5-0 win over San Diego on Friday.
Impact Kokko earned the first shutout of his AHL career with this effort. He's now 6-3-1 with a 3.36 GAA and an .895 save percentage over 11 outings this season as the Firebirds' primary netminder. He will likely spend most or all of 2025-26 with Coachella Valley, as the Kraken have opted to have three goalies on the NHL roster when fully healthy this season.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2025 • NHL.COM
Returning to Coachella Valley Kokko was reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley on Sunday.
Impact Kokko's demotion comes at the expense of Philipp Grubauer being recalled from the Firebirds in a corresponding move. Kokko allowed two goals on six shots in his NHL debut in relief of Joey Daccord in a 7-2 loss to the Blues on Feb. 25. Kokko was a second-round selection in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, so he figures to be a big part of Seattle's future, provided he continues to develop at the AHL level.
MARCH 3, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Makes debut in relief Kokko stopped four of six shots in relief of Joey Daccord in Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the Blues.
Impact Kokko played the final half of the game after a poor showing from Daccord early on. The Blues eased up significantly, but Kokko didn't exactly impress despite a limited workload. He was called up Monday to take on the backup role, though it's possible the Kraken continue to shuffle Kokko and Ales Stezka around to avoid having either of them sitting out too long. The Kraken's next game is Saturday against the Canucks, and with no back-to-backs over the next week, the 20-year-old Kokko may benefit from an assignment to AHL Coachella Valley to keep him in a playing rhythm.
FEBRUARY 26, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Called up from minors Kokko was elevated from AHL Coachella Valley on Monday.
Impact Kokko's promotion is likely more about getting Ales Stezka, who was sent down to the minors in a corresponding move, some game action, as the Firebirds will play Wednesday and Friday against AHL Henderson and AHL San Diego, respectively. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Kokko figures to serve as the backup to Joey Daccord versus St. Louis on Tuesday -- assuming the Kraken don't decide to reverse these two moves Tuesday.
FEBRUARY 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Secures ELC Kokko signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Kraken on Monday, per CapFriendly.
Impact Kokko was a second-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. He posted a 2.98 GAA and a .903 save percentage across eight appearances in the Finnish Elite League this season. It's unclear when the team expects him to transition to North American hockey.
