Rangers D Adam Fox (shoulder) to be placed on IR New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox is heading to the injured reserve list due to an upper-body injury, according to multiple reports on We...

Mathew Barzal - Moves to LTIR Barzal (kneecap) was transferred to long-term injured reserve Wednesday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Impact This is simply a procedural move for the Islanders, as they needed to free up cap space to activate Noah Dobson (lower body) from long-term injured reserve. It doesn't impact Barzal's timeline -- he's still expected to be out until mid-to-late March after undergoing a minor procedure on his kneecap. He has already missed six games and will be out well past the requisite totals of 10 contests and 24 days required for LTIR.

Rangers defenseman Adam Fox going on IR with upper-body injury, AP source says

New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox is going on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, a person with knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press

Adam Fox - On injured reserve Fox (upper body) was put on injured reserve Wednesday, according to Peter Baugh of The Athletic.
Impact The Rangers are still hoping to have Fox available down the stretch, but the 27-year-old will miss at least New York's next three games because he's been put on IR. The injury interrupts his seven-game scoring streak (two goals, eight points). He has five goals and 48 points in 58 appearances in 2024-25. K'Andre Miller would probably move up to the first power-play unit under normal circumstances, but Miller is questionable for Friday's clash against Toronto due to a lower-body injury, which further complicates the Rangers' blue-line situation. Perhaps Braden Schneider will get a chance to serve in the top four and see power-play minutes. The Rangers might also have the 23-year-old Matthew Robertson make his NHL debut Friday.

Matthew Robertson - Recalled from AHL Robertson was recalled from AHL Hartford on Wednesday.
Impact Robertson was sent to Hartford on Monday, but he'll rejoin the NHL club following a brief stint in the minors. He'll provide additional depth for the Rangers while Adam Fox (upper body) and K'Andre Miller (lower body) are dealing with injuries.

Braden Schneider - Contributes helper in win Schneider notched an assist, two shots on goal, five hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact Schneider ended a nine-game slump with the helper. He also saw a season-high 23:37 of ice time due to injuries -- Adam Fox (upper body) and K'Andre Miller (lower body) were forced from the game early. If either of those blueliners, particularly Fox, misses additional time, Schneider would likely be asked to move into the top four. The 23-year-old Schneider has 14 points, 76 shots on net, 103 hits, 109 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 58 appearances this season, so he may have some short-term appeal in fantasy formats that reward non-scoring production.

Ryan Lindgren - Secures career year Lindgren logged two assists, two hits and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact Lindgren has six helpers and a plus-6 rating over his last five games. The 27-year-old defenseman could be tasked with a heavy workload if Adam Fox (upper body) and K'Andre Miller (lower body) miss time following their injuries in Tuesday's contest. Lindgren has secured a career year with 19 points over just 53 contests, and he's added 40 shots on net, 59 hits, 100 blocked shots, 34 PIM and a plus-1 rating while seeing top-four minutes.
