Impact Head coach Scott Arniel labeled Pionk as week-to-week earlier Wednesday, so the defenseman's placement on injured reserve isn't particularly surprising. The exact nature of his injury isn't yet clear, and whether he'll be able to return to game action before the Olympic break in February remains to be seen.
