Impact The veteran winger had just one lonely assist through his first 13 games of the season, but Palat finally got off the schnied by slotting home a nifty no-look pass from Simon Nemec midway through the second period. Palat has scored double-digit goals during each of the last five seasons in which he's played at least 50 games, including 15 goals and 28 points in 77 regular-season contests in 2024-25.

Jack Hughes - Two helpers against Habs Hughes produced two assists in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over Montreal.
Impact The 24-year-old center popped for his fifth multi-point performance in the last 10 games by helping to set up Ondrej Palat's first goal of the season in the second period, and Timo Meier's game-tying tally late in the third. Hughes has nine goals and 15 points over that 10-game surge, and it's been so far so good on the health front -- he hasn't played more than 62 regular-season games in a campaign since 2022-23.

Impact After having a hand in Timo Meier's tying tally with just over a minute left in the third period, Bratt ended the night in spectacular fashion, picking Alex Newhook's pocket at the New Jersey blue line to create a clear breakaway and then sliding a backhand through Jakub Dobes' five-hole for the OT winner. It was Bratt's first multi-point performance since Oct. 21, snapping a seven-game skid in which he managed just one goal and three points, but on the season the 27-year-old winger still has five goals and 15 points in 14 contests.

Impact After seeing more than 40 shots in each of his prior two starts, the lack of rubber was a welcome sight for Markstrom, but it also may have left the veteran netminder a little cold on a Jake Evans tally 59 seconds into the third period that he probably should have stopped. Markstrom has alternated starts with Jake Allen since returning from a lower-body injury in late October, going 2-1-0 in three outings while surrendering 12 goals on 105 shots (.886 save percentage).

Impact Pesce hasn't played since Oct. 26, and he's not expected to return until late November, so this move doesn't alter his timetable. However, the Devils needed the roster spot to activate Cody Glass (upper body) off IR in a corresponding move. Pesce will likely serve in a top-four capacity once he's healthy, but the 30-year-old isn't a significant offensive contributor -- he has 33 points in 151 regular-season games from 2023-24 through 2025-26 -- and he consequently doesn't factor into many fantasy teams.
