Impact Markstrom is off to a good start as the Devils' No. 1 goaltender, after he was dealt in the offseason from Calgary. Markstrom is 3-2-0 with a 2.42 GAA and a .918 save percentage. He will face the Capitals who have scored 10 goals in three contests.

Dougie Hamilton - Gets on scoresheet with helper Hamilton notched an assist and four shots on goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
Impact Hamilton's offense was a bit late to the party, but he's finally cracked the goose egg in the points column. It's likely the 31-year-old defenseman had to shake off the rust after missing most of last season due to a pectoral injury. Hamilton has added 24 shots on net, 14 blocked shots, nine hits and a plus-1 rating over seven appearances, so fantasy managers should continue to be patient with the blueliner, who has reached double digits in goals in eight of his last 10 seasons.

Erik Haula - Tallies opening goal Haula scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
Impact Haula's first goal of the season came at 2:39 of the second period. While he's struggled to put up shots with just eight over seven contests, the 33-year-old has done a decent job as a middle-six playmaker. He's added four assists and a plus-2 rating while adding 12 hits. Haula's ice time has been down this year -- he averaged 16:53 last year but is at 14:24 per game in 2024-25, which is likely a product of Jack Hughes and Nico Hischier staying healthy early on.

Nathan Bastian - Pots shortie for game-winner Bastian scored a shorthanded game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-1 victory over the Senators.
Impact The 26-year-old winger collected his first career shortie in the second period, keeping the puck on a 2-on-1 counter-attack and ripping it past Anton Forsberg to give the Devils a 2-0 lead. Bastian's bottom-six role doesn't offer much fantasy upside, but he's had a solid start to the season with a goal and three points in seven games to go along with nine hits, seven shots, five blocked shots, four PIM and a plsu-1 rating.

Paul Cotter - Stays hot in Thursday's win Cotter scored his fifth goal of the season in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
Impact The former Golden Knight continued his impressive start to the season, scoring New Jersey's final goal of the game in the third period by banging home the rebound on a Dougie Hamilton shot. Cotter has never produced more than 13 goals or 25 points in an NHL campaign, but for now he has a top-six assignment and has turned it into six points in seven games.
