Carson Lambos - Up from AHL Lambos was called up from AHL Iowa on Wednesday.

Impact Jared Spurgeon (lower body) could miss time, so the Wild brought up Lambos to bolster their defensive depth. Lambos has minimal fantasy intrigue -- he has just five points over 27 contests in the AHL this year. If he plays, he'll likely be in a third-pairing role, but he could be a placeholder on the roster depending on the length of Spurgeon's absence.

Brendan Gaunce - Back with big club Gaunce was called up from AHL Iowa on Wednesday.

Impact The Wild needed an extra forward for their two-game road trip after Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) landed on injured reserve. Gaunce has appeared in four NHL games this season, recording three shots on net, four PIM, five hits and a minus-3 rating. He's not guaranteed to be in the lineup against the Capitals on Thursday.

Zachary L'Heureux - Hearing scheduled with NHL L'Heureux will have a phone hearing with the league after slew-footing Jared Spurgeon during Nashville's 5-3 loss to Minnesota, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports Wednesday.

Impact The fact that it's not an in-person hearing means that the maximum suspension L'Heureux can receive is five games. Although the 21-year-old has received 11 previous suspensions, none of them will be factored in because they occurred in leagues other than the NHL. Spurgeon exited Tuesday's game due to the injury and was seen afterward in a leg brace and on crutches. The Predators have just 12 healthy forwards on their roster, so if L'Heureux is suspended, they'll likely recall a forward from the minors.

Kirill Kaprizov - On injured reserve Kaprizov (lower body) was put on injured reserve Wednesday, per the NHL media site.

Impact Kaprizov hasn't played since Dec. 23, so he's eligible to be activated whenever he's healthy. However, it seems fair to believe the Wild wouldn't have put him on IR unless they expected him to miss at least one more game -- Minnesota's next scheduled tilt is Thursday in Washington. Kaprizov has 23 goals and 50 points in 34 appearances in 2024-25.
