Avs-Predators Game 32 Studs & Duds - DNVR Sports The Colorado Avalanche beat the Nashville Predators in a closer-than-it-looks 5-2 victory. These are the Avs studs and duds from the game.
DECEMBER 16, 2024 • THEDNVR.COM
Marc Del Gaizo - Serving as injury fill-in Del Gaizo played for a third straight game Saturday in a 5-2 loss to the Avalanche, logging three blocked shots.
Impact He was scratched for six consecutive contests between Nov. 27 and Dec. 7, but injuries to Roman Josi (lower body), Alexandre Carrier (upper body) and Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) have allowed him to get back in the lineup. Del Gaizo has just three assists to go with 27 shots on net, 28 blocked shots and 29 hits through 19 outings. He may be at risk of losing his place in the lineup once the Predators' defense is healthier.

Juuso Parssinen - Losing playing time Parssinen was scratched for the eighth time in 11 games when he sat out Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact Injuries opened the door for Parssinen to play in November, but he didn't do enough to stay in the lineup when he had the chance. He's at five points, 11 shots on net, 28 hits and a minus-8 rating through 15 appearances this season. For now, the Predators appear content with letting Zachary L'Heureux get a longer look in a middle-six role, so there's no telling when Parssinen might get another chance.

Colton Sissons - Slumping again Sissons was held off the scoresheet for the 15th straight game in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact Sissons isn't known for his offense, but he's having a terrible year on a team that has seen plenty of that in 2024-25. The 31-year-old has just two goals with 27 shots on net, 39 hits, 35 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating through 30 appearances. Sissons had reached the 30-point mark in each of the last two seasons, but a fourth-line role on a low-scoring team makes him a non-factor in fantasy now.

Luke Evangelista - Puts away goal in loss Evangelista scored a goal on five shots in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact The goal was Evangelista's first since Nov. 11, which was also a game in Denver. The 22-year-old winger has picked up the pace with four points over his last eight contests, but he remains in a third-line role without much consistency on offense. Evangelista is at 12 points, 53 shots on net and an even plus-minus rating through 29 appearances.

Steven Stamkos - Scores in Saturday's loss Stamkos scored a goal on five shots and went minus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact Stamkos has a goal and two assists over the last three games. The 34-year-old has returned to center, playing on the top line even with Ryan O'Reilly back from a lower-body injury. Stamkos is up to eight goals, 16 points, 73 shots on net, 27 hits, 20 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 31 appearances. He's too good to slip out of the top six, but Stamkos is on pace for one of the roughest healthy seasons of his career.

John Ludvig - Struggling to make lineup Ludvig has played just five times over 21 games since the start of November after being scratched Saturday versus the Predators.
Impact The Avalanche have some flexibility with Keaton Middleton right now, and they've been juggling him up and down from the AHL rather than play Ludvig. The Avalanche claimed Ludvig off waivers from the Penguins before the start of the season, and he would need to clear waivers to be sent to AHL Colorado, which the team probably believes won't happen, so they've instead kept him as a healthy scratch. Ludvig has two helpers, nine shots on net, 16 hits and a minus-4 rating over eight contests this season.
