Elevated from minors Chaffee was recalled from AHL Hamilton on Monday.

Impact Chaffee is off to a strong start in the minors, racking up four goals and two assists through six minor-league games with the Hammers. As such, the 28-year-old winger seems to have earned his promotion to the big club. In a corresponding move, the Isles put Alexander Romanov (knee) on injured reserve.

Hat trick in AHL opener Chaffee scored three goals in AHL Hamilton's 5-2 win over Belleville on Friday.

Impact Chaffee's first game in the Islanders' organization was a big one. He helped the Hammers start off their new era in a positive manner following the team's rebrand and relocation from Bridgeport. Chaffee was better than a point-per-game player with AHL Syracuse in 2025-26, so he should be an effective minor-league scorer.

OCTOBER 3 • ROTOWIRE

Sent to waivers Chaffee was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee signed a one-year deal with the Isles in the offseason after he played in 11 games with Tampa Bay during the 2025-26 campaign. He did most of his damage last season with AHL Syracuse, where he posted 24 goals and 57 points across 54 regular-season outings. He'll look to be effective for the newly-relocated AHL Hamilton, but could see some run with the Isles if the team runs into a stream of injuries.

Impact Chaffee logged a mere 11 games for the Lightning last season, tallying one assist, 29 hits and nine shots while averaging 9:34 of ice time. While the 28-year-old winger should get a look during training camp, he'll face an uphill battle in securing a full-time NHL roster spot and could spend time in the minors.

JULY 1 • ROTOWIRE

Sent back to AHL Chaffee has been reassigned to AHL Syracuse by the Lightning, the team announced Sunday.

Impact Chaffee was recalled to play in the Lightning's regular-season finale against the Rangers, and he notched an assist for his first point of the season in his 11th game. The 28-year-old has been with AHL Syracuse for most of the season and has excelled, registering 57 points (24 goals, 33 assists) in 54 games.

Set to be called up Chaffee is slated to be called up by the Lightning on Wednesday, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

Impact Chaffee has made 10 appearances for the Lightning this year, and he's been held without a point with 24 hits, four blocked shots and four PIM while averaging 9:11 of ice time. He'll rejoin the NHL club ahead of Wednesday's regular-season finale against the Rangers but will presumably head back to the minors afterward.

APRIL 15 • ROTOWIRE

Flipped to minors Chaffee was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Tuesday, Eduardo A. Encina of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Impact Chaffee has failed to record a point in 10 NHL games this year, though he did chip in 24 hits, four blocks and four PIM during that stretch while averaging 9:11 of ice time. It appears Chaffee will be switching places with Jakob Pelletier, who was called up in a corresponding move, according to Encina.

APRIL 7 • ROTOWIRE

Summoned from AHL Chaffee was recalled from AHL Syracuse on Thursday.

Impact Chaffee spent all of last season with the Lightning, tallying 12 goals and six assists across 66 games. He has spent most of the 2025-26 campaign with AHL Syracuse, scoring 24 goals and adding 31 assists over 52 contests. He has yet to pick up a point in seven NHL games this season. The Lightning are down to 11 healthy forwards, as Brandon Hagel (undisclosed) is doubtful for Thursday's tilt versus Pittsburgh.

Nets two goals in Syracuse win Chaffee scored twice in AHL Syracuse's 6-2 win over Cleveland on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee has five goals and five helpers over nine outings in March. He's over a point-per-game pace this season in the AHL, earning 23 goals and 51 points through 49 outings. He hasn't been in the NHL since late October, but he's done his part with the Crunch to stay on the radar if a call-up is needed.

MARCH 22 • ROTOWIRE

Pots pair Saturday for Crunch Chaffee scored two goals in AHL Syracuse's 5-2 win over Belleville on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee moved above a point-per-game pace with this effort. He has 14 goals, 21 helpers, 87 shots and 35 PIM through 34 outings for the Crunch this season. He also saw seven contests with the Lightning to begin the campaign, but Chaffee hasn't seen the NHL ranks since he was waived Oct. 27.

FEBRUARY 8 • ROTOWIRE

Three points in AHL win Chaffee scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Syracuse's 6-3 win over Utica on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee's big game got him to a point-per-game pace for the Crunch this season. He's at 10 goals, 19 helpers, 70 shots on net and a minus-2 rating over 29 appearances. The 27-year-old forward could have a chance at a call-up if the injury to Gage Goncalves (undisclosed) is a long-term concern.

JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE

Three points for Syracuse Chaffee scored a goal and added two assists in AHL Syracuse's 3-2 win over Laval on Saturday.

Impact Chaffee had gone seven games without a goal, though he had six assists in that span. He's done a good job with nine goals and 17 helpers over 26 AHL outings this season. The 27-year-old will look to stay productive in hopes the Lightning will turn to him if they run thin at forward later in the campaign.

JANUARY 11 • ROTOWIRE

Nets two goals in AHL win Chaffee scored a pair of goals in AHL Syracuse's 3-2 win over Laval on Wednesday.

Impact Chaffee has a six-game point streak going after initially struggling following his return to the Crunch in late October. The 27-year-old forward has three goals, four assists and 21 shots on net over eight appearances. He was waived by the Lightning after beginning the year with no points in seven NHL games, but a strong showing in the AHL could help him get back up to the big club later in the campaign.

NOVEMBER 20, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Designated for waivers Chaffee was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Impact Chaffee's placement on waivers will allow the Bolts to send him down to AHL Syracuse. After going pointless in his first seven outings, the 27-year-old winger was left out of the lineup for Tampa's last two contests, with the team opting to roll with seven defensemen instead. Given his limited offensive upside, it seems unlikely another team will put a claim in on the Michigan native.
