Simon Benoit - No points in January Benoit was held off the scoresheet in all 11 of his appearances in January.
Impact Benoit's overall point drought is up to 12 games. He was also scratched twice in the middle of the month, but the Maple Leafs seem to value his physicality even if it comes with a complete lack of offense. For the season, the 26-year-old blueliner is at four assists, 31 shots on net, 28 PIM, 125 hits and 65 blocked shots over 47 appearances. Benoit has the upper hand on Philippe Myers and Conor Timmins to stay in a third-pairing role.

Pontus Holmberg - Pockets assist Holmberg provided an assist and blocked two shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Wild.
Impact Holmberg has gotten a chance to center the second line in the absence of John Tavares (lower body), though Wednesday was the first time it led to a meaningful bump in ice time (19:31). The 25-year-old Holmberg is more of a defensive forward, so his scoring upside remains limited. He has eight points, 35 shots on net, 33 blocked shots, 23 PIM and 17 hits over 39 contests in 2024-25.

Max Domi - Contributes helper in loss Domi logged an assist in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Wild.
Impact Domi has gone 18 games without a goal, but he has seven assists in that span. Playmaking has often come easier for the 29-year-old forward in his career, but his split of three goals and 15 helpers through 43 appearances this season is extreme even by his standards. He's added 62 shots on net, 34 PIM and an even plus-minus rating while seeing steady middle-six minutes.

William Nylander - Nets lone goal in loss Nylander scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Wild.
Impact Nylander struggled for a couple of weeks in late December and early January, but he's bounced back well. He has six goals and two assists over his last nine contests, including the lone goal against Filip Gustavsson in Wednesday's defeat. For the season, Nylander is up to 29 tallies, 22 assists, 171 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 51 appearances. Barring any extended slumps, Nylander should be able to reach the 40-goal mark for the third year in a row.
