Summoned from AHL Hovorka was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Thursday, per the NHL media site.

Impact Hovorka could make his NHL debut Thursday in Tampa Bay, though it's more likely that he will be a healthy scratch as the Panthers' seventh blueliner. The defenseman had two goals and eight assists in 30 AHL appearances before his callup. The Panthers placed Tobias Bjornfot (undisclosed) on injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Impact Hovorka is in the final year of his NHL deal. The defenseman was held off the scoresheet in Charlotte's first two games of the year. The Panthers replenished their defensive depth by claiming Donovan Sebrango off waivers from the Senators earlier this week, but if Hovorka plays well for the Checkers, he could be a call-up candidate at some point.
