Won't play in 2025-26 McCormick will miss the entirety of the 2025-26 campaign after undergoing hip surgery, the team announced Tuesday.

Impact McCormick has played in just one NHL regular-season game over the past three seasons, so his absence is unlikely to impact the majority of fantasy players. With his contract with the Kraken expiring July 1, the 33-year-old winger may have to settle for a minor-league-only deal heading into the 2026-27 campaign.

Impact McCormick was unlikely to make the Kraken's NHL roster anyway, but missing all of camp will threaten his chances to be active for the start of AHL Coachella Valley's season. He was also hindered by injuries in 2024-25, so it's not yet clear when he'll be able to suit up at any level.

Impact McCormick was limited to 19 games with AHL Coachella Valley last season, picking up 13 points. He is in the last season of his two-year, two-way contract and is a long shot to see much time with the Kraken, particularly if the injury lingers throughout the preseason and into the regular season.
