Exits Thursday's contest Knies exited Thursday's game against Boston because of an undisclosed injury, according to Joshua Kloke of The Athletic. However, it's believed that his injury is not serious.
Impact Knies logged just 3:18 of ice time Thursday. He entered the contest with 11 goals, 26 points, 31 PIM and 129 hits in 60 appearances this season. If Knies is unavailable for Saturday's match against Montreal, then Holmberg might draw into the lineup.

Impact The goal, which snapped a 17-game goal drought, came on a smart deflection of a Mitchell Marner shot from in tight. Knies has just 20 points in 48 games, but fantasy managers should continue to exercise patience. It's easy to forget that Knies is a rookie with only 51 games played in his career. He has tremendous potential and the kind of game that the Leafs need should they make the postseason. But Knies isn't going put up loads of points this season -- remember, he was playing college hockey at this time last year.

Impact Thankfully, he was no worse for wear after twisting his knee at practice. Knies has an assist in two consecutive games. He has shown bursts of impressive effort this season, but he hasn't been able to convert that to consistent offense. Knies has one goal in his last 11 games. And in his last 16 games since the start of Dec, Knies has just six points, including two goals. His future is bright, but he's a tough fantasy play in single-year formats right now.

Impact Knies had missed two games due to illness, but looked none the worse for wear when he roared in on Tristan Jarry early in the first frame, held off a defender and lifted a backhand over the netminder's glove from the top of the crease. Knies actually delivered a somewhat rare Gordie Howe Hat Trick on Saturday. He found Pens defender John Ludvig in the first and had an assist on Max Domi's second period goal. Knies is fifth on the NHL rookie goal list (tied with Connor Zary with seven) and is on a 40-point pace.
