Impact Geertsen has been a healthy scratch in 13 of Buffalo's last 14 games. He has eight hits and 12 PIM over five games this season. Should he pass through waivers, Geertsen will be sent to AHL Rochester.

Impact Geertsen played in four of the first six games of the year, but the 30-year-old hasn't carved out a regular role even amid a tough stretch of injuries for the Sabres. Even when he plays, he's averaged just 4:07 of ice time over five appearances while adding eight hits and 12 PIM. He's failed to record a point in 30 NHL outings, and the defenseman-turned-winger is unlikely to ever produce offense at the level necessary to help in fantasy.

Impact Geertsen hasn't played in the NHL since the 2021-22 campaign when he logged 25 games for the Devils. In those appearances, the 30-year-old defenseman averaged a paltry 6:57 of ice time, understandably failing to register a point along the way. It's unlikely to get any better in Buffalo, as fantasy players should anticipate the Alberta native playing the majority of his games for AHL Rochester this year.
