Ivan Ivan - Sent to AHL Ivan was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday.
Impact Ivan has three goals and two assists with two goals and one helper coming on the power play. The 22-year-old has been a pleasant surprise over his 17 games in the NHL, but will Valeri Nichushkin ready to return from a six-month suspension, there wasn't room for Ivan. He will continue to pick up valuable experience in the minors, where he managed 12 goals and 31 points in 67 regular-season AHL games with the Eagles last season, his first in North America.

Nikolai Kovalenko - Sent to minors Kovalenko was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday.
Impact Kovalenko's return to the minors might just be a paper move for salary cap reasons because the Avalanche's next game isn't until Friday versus Washington. Consequently, it would not be surprising if there's another update in about 24 hours saying that he's been recalled. There is a bit of an x-factor here with Valeri Nichushkin (suspension) set to be activated Friday, but Chris Wagner was put on waivers Thursday, so it might be Wagner rather than Kovalenko being sent to the minors for the long run to make room for Nichushkin. The 25-year-old Kovalenko has two goals and six points in 17 appearances with the Avalanche in 2024-25.

Chris Wagner - Placed on waivers The Avalanche placed Wagner on waivers Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Impact The Avalanche are expected to activate Valeri Nichushkin from suspension, ahead of Friday's game versus Washington. A move was needed to free up a roster spot and Wagner was the odd-man out. Wagner had a goal in 12 games with the Avs this season and will likely be sent to AHL Colorado, should he pass through waivers.

Jonathan Drouin - Activated from injured reserve Drouin (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Thursday.
Impact Drouin hasn't suited up since Oct. 9 due to his upper-body injury, but he should be able to return to action Friday against the Capitals. Over 79 appearances with the Avalanche last year, he logged 19 goals and 56 points while averaging 18:11 of ice time.
