Signs with Washington Holl signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with the Capitals on Wednesday, David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reports.

Impact Holl spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the minors, making 41 regular-season appearances for AHL Grand Rapids and recording two goals, 12 assists and 10 PIM. However, he had averaged 63.8 regular-season NHL appearances across the previous six campaigns, and he'll presumably have an opportunity to compete for an NHL role with his new team.

The 34-year-old Holl was with AHL Grand Rapids prior to the trade, but the Blues need him in the NHL currently while Colton Parayko (back) is out of the lineup. Holl hadn't seen NHL ice since 2024-25, when he posted just eight points in 73 contests for the Red Wings. He has minimal offensive upside, and his physical play took a severe downturn last year, so the blueliner is unlikely to be a factor in fantasy.

Flipped in Faulk deal Holl was traded to St. Louis, along with a first-round and third-round pick, from Detroit on Friday in exchange for Justin Faulk, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.

Impact Holl appeared in 73 games for the Red Wings last season, notching eight points, but hasn't been able to break into the lineup this year. With AHL Grand Rapids, the blueliner has produced two goals and 12 helpers in 41 contests. With his new club, Holl could be called up from the minors and finally see some NHL ice time.
