Draws power-play helper Leonard logged a power-play assist in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Mammoth.

Impact Leonard has been on the second line in the last two games, taking over for Patrick Kane (undisclosed). Wednesday saw Leonard also work on the second power-play unit, though he saw just 12:08 of ice time in total. The 27-year-old forward was on fire in the AHL with 29 points in 20 games prior to his call-up, and he could stick in the NHL if he can contribute regularly on offense for the Red Wings.

Impact Leonard has had a stellar start to the season in the minors, as he leads the AHL with 19 goals to go with 10 assists, two PIM and a plus-14 rating. The 27-year-old hasn't appeared in a game since the 2023-24 season, but he'll provide additional depth for the Red Wings after Mason Appleton (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Impact Leonard had nine goals and seven assists over 10 games for AHL Grand Rapids in November. He's been a massive performer this season with 24 points in 15 games to co-lead the AHL through the end of November. That's an effort that has helped the Griffins to a 16-1-0-1 record through 18 contests overall, the best record in the league. Leonard should be in consideration for a call-up if the Red Wings need a forward.

Selected by the Sharks in the sixth round of the 2018 NHL Draft, the New Jersey native will look to get back to the NHL for the first time since 2023-24 when he played in six games for the Coyotes.
