Signs two-year deal Hanley put pen to paper on a two-year, $3.5 million contract with Calgary on Tuesday.

Impact Hanley isn't exactly an offensive dynamo, considering he managed just two goals and seven helpers in 53 regular-season appearances last year. Still, the veteran blueliner should fill a bottom-pairing role as a shutdown defenseman. Hanley doesn't offer enough in terms of PIM or hits to give him much in the way of fantasy value outside the deepest of formats.

Not expected to play Thursday Hanley is slated to miss Thursday's regular-season finale against the Kings due to rest purposes, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

Impact Hanley made 53 appearances during his first full season with the Flames this year, recording two goals, seven assists, 90 blocked shots, 55 hits and 21 PIM while averaging 18:35 of ice time. He's slated to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason.
