Could be gone for season Per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan, Hanley (undisclosed) is likely out for the remainder of the season, according to head coach Ryan Huska on Saturday.

Impact Hanley was injured Thursday versus Anaheim. The defenseman will end the season with seven assists, 90 blocked shots and 42 hits over 68 regular-season games. He should be ready for the start of training camp in September.

Impact Hanley will be back in action after missing just one game due to his illness. The defenseman has yet to find the back of the net in 58 games this season and has managed a lone helper in his previous 22 outings. Given his lack of offensive upside, fantasy managers will want to pursue alternative fantasy options on the blue line.

Impact Hanley helped out on a Matthew Coronato goal in the third period. This ended a 10-game point drought for Hanley, who was also a healthy scratch three times in that span. Hanley, Jake Bean and Brayden Pachal have been in contention for two spots in the lineup for much of the last month or so, and that will continue with Zayne Parekh (upper body) expected to be loaned to Canada's World Junior Championship team soon. Impact Hanley isn't exactly an offensive dynamo, considering he managed just two goals and seven helpers in 53 regular-season appearances last year. Still, the veteran blueliner should fill a bottom-pairing role as a shutdown defenseman. Hanley doesn't offer enough in terms of PIM or hits to give him much in the way of fantasy value outside the deepest of formats.
