Blomqvist was 3-5-0 with 3.61 GAA and a .904 save percentage in eight starts this season. The 22-year-old netminder will get more experience at the AHL level the rest of the way and could get recalled due to an injury or trade of either Nedeljkovic or Jarry.

Impact Blomqvist is drawing a tough assignment. Washington is 9-3-0 and ranks fourth offensively with 4.08 goals per game. Blomqvist, who is making his first start since Oct. 29, has a 2-4-0 record, 3.47 GAA and .909 save percentage in six outings in 2024-25. He has lost his last three starts while allowing 12 goals on 127 shots (.906 save percentage) over that span.

Nedeljkovic is likely to start Saturday in Vancouver, and Jarry could re-enter the mix next week, but none of Pittsburgh's goalies should be rostered on a full-time basis in most fantasy formats until the team in front of them improves significantly.

Impact Blomqvist will look to build off Wednesday's 26-save relief performance versus the Sabres in which he helped the Pens secure a come-from-behind overtime victory. Blomqvist is currently backing up Tristan Jarry while Alex Nedeljkovic (lower body) is on the shelf. With Jarry struggling, Blomqvist could get another couple starts until Ned returns.
