Impact Reimer let leads of 2-0 and 3-2 slip away Thursday, but Jesper Fast's goal in the final minute of regulation was enough for the Hurricanes to win. The 33-year-old Reimer can thank his offense for his 14th win in 19 appearances this season. He's posted a 2.71 GAA and a .905 save percentage. With a back-to-back versus the Stars on Saturday and Sunday, Reimer is likely to see at least one start, but it remains to be seen if Alex Nedeljkovic or Petr Mrazek (thumb) would get the other.

Draws start Thursday Reimer will guard the road net in Thursday's game versus the Blackhawks, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Impact Petr Mrazek (thumb) is closing in on a return, so Reimer needs a strong game to help make his case for future starts because Alex Nedeljkovic has been so impressive. Reimer has posted a .922 save percentage and a 5-1-1 record over his last seven appearances. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks have won three of their last five games despite averaging just 2.2 goals.

Rights ship after sloppy start Reimer made 19 saves in a 4-3 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Impact Reimer and Alex Nedeljkovic have been splitting time in the blue paint. The latter had won the previous two games, so Optimus Reims needed to come up big. He played OK -- he started slowly and had allowed two goals by the 5:41 mark of the first period. Reimer stabilized his game soon after, but probably found it hard to stay sharp with his team dominating the Bolts' best players and the play heavily weighted toward Andrei Vasilevskiy. But a win is a win and the Hurricanes are roaring with gale force velocities. Reimer is a solid activation when he's in the blue paint.
