Given the two-way nature of his new deal, McKown should be expected to continue playing the bulk of his minutes in the minors.

Impact McKown was held off the scoresheet in a 7-3 loss to Pittsburgh after he was recalled Friday to play in the Blue Jackets' preseason finale. McKown had nine goals and 24 points in 53 regular-season contests with AHL Cleveland in 2023-24.
