Impact Hathaway was in the lineup for just the second time in the last five games. His playing time has been a little inconsistent at times, and the Flyers' addition of Luke Glendening off waivers from the Devils has muddied Hathaway's path into the lineup regularly. For the season, Hathaway has one goal, two assists, 25 shots on net, 205 hits, 59 PIM, 42 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating over 55 appearances.

He'll have nearly a week to recover before Philadelphia faces Washington on Wednesday, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him available for that matchup.

Impact Hathaway got a monkey off his back Saturday with his first goal and point of the 2025-26 season. It took 37 games. He spent several games in the press box in December, and it clearly gave him some perspective. Hathaway has 19 PIM, 20 hits, six blocks and is plus-three in four games since he got back in the lineup. Those bruise categories may help if you can afford to deploy such a one-dimensional player.

Impact It was the first time he was scratched this season. Honestly, we wonder why it took so long. Hathaway is completely snakebitten this season -- he has no points and just 15 shots in 33 games. Yes, he has 117 hits, but that's an empty stat when the rest of his line is so weak. At 34, Hathaway may be nearing the end of the line. He has 75 goals, 85 assists and 2,046 hits in 639 NHL games over 11 seasons.
