NHL rights released Lindberg won't be qualified by the Penguins, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports Monday.

Impact Lindberg spent the 2024-25 campaign overseas with Tappara Tampere, having last played in North America during the 2022-23 campaign. Selected by the Wild in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft, the 26-year-old goalie is unlikely to ever break into the NHL at this point and figures to spend his career in Europe.

Inks overseas contract Lindberg agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Finnish club SaiPa on Friday.

Impact Lindberg made 31 appearances for TPS last season in which he posted a 2.54 GAA and .883 save percentage. While the Penguins still hold the netminder's NHL rights, this new contract is likely an indication that the 25-year-old backstop won't be making a return to North America any time soon.

Signs with TPS Lindberg has signed a two-year contract with TPS in the SM-liiga, Matt Vensel of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Impact Lindberg was 6-11-1 with a 3.13 GAA and .896 save percentage with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2022-23. Lindberg was drafted by Minnesota in the seventh round in 2019, but never signed and the Penguins eventually inked him to a contract after he finished his career at UMass-Amherst in 2021.
