Impact Bystedt had the Barracuda's first and last goals in this game. The 21-year-old had gone six games without scoring and three contests without a point prior to Saturday. He's now at six goals, 20 points and a plus-7 rating over 23 appearances this season, well on his way to surpassing the 31 points he had in 50 regular-season outings last year. His offensive game has rounded out better than expected, but the Sharks have plenty of young players ahead of him in terms of importance to the team's future.

Impact It's a good sign that Bystedt is available to play after an injury Saturday during a game with AHL San Jose. The 2022 first-round pick has enjoyed a breakout season at the AHL level with 30 points in 48 games so far this year. The Barracudas don't play again until Apr 18, so expect the 21-year-old back in the lineup then.

Impact Bystedt was decent as a youngster playing in the SHL this season, picking up eight goals and 17 points through 47 games with Linkoping HC. The 2022 first-round pick will join the Barracuda for now, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him make his NHL debut at some point over the final two-plus weeks of the 2023-24 campaign.

Inks entry-level deal Bystedt signed a three-year, entry-level contract with San Jose on Monday.

Impact Bystedt notched seven goals and 20 points in 45 games with Linkoping HC of the SHL during the 2022-23 season. He also produced four goals and six assists in seven contests for Sweden at the 2023 World Junior Championship. The Sharks selected Bystedt 27th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. It's unclear at this time if the 19-year-old forward will come to North America for the 2023-24 campaign.
