Traded to Sens Gilbert was traded to Ottawa by Philadelphia on Monday in exchange for Maxence Guenette.

Impact Gilbert spent part of the 2024-25 campaign with the Senators, logging four regular-season games for the Sens in which he notched one assist, 11 hits and four shots. Even with the move to a new organization, the 29-year-old blueliner will likely start in the minors with AHL Belleville.

It's possible the 28-year-old will be claimed off waivers by a team, but even in that scenario, Gilbert is unlikely to serve as more than a third-pairing option who also spends some time as a healthy scratch. If Gilbert clears waivers, he'll report to AHL Lehigh Valley.
