INJURIES

Might travel with club Kuemper (lower body) skated Saturday and might travel with the Kings for their upcoming five-game road trip, which begins Tuesday in St. Louis, Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider repo...
Impact Kuemper isn't expected to play in Saturday's home game against Carolina, but he might not be out for too long. The 35-year-old has a record of 0-2-1 with a 3.35 GAA and an .868 save percentage in three appearances this year. He should resume his role as the team's No. 1 netminder once he's healthy, butAnton Forsberg is likely to get the majority of LA's starts during Kuemper's absence.

Filip Hallander's first career goal sparks Penguins' comeback win over Kings

Not expected to suit up Thursday Kuemper (lower body) isn't expected to dress for Thursday's home game against Pittsburgh, NHL.com reports.
Impact Kuemper missed Wednesday's practice session due to a lower-body injury, and he's considered day-to-day. Anton Forsberg will serve as the Kings' starting netminder Thursday while Pheonix Copley operates as the backup, signaling that Kuemper will be unavailable for at least one game. Whether he'll be able to return Saturday against the Hurricanes remains to be seen.

LA Kings reacquire veteran goalie Pheonix Copley from Tampa Bay as depth while Kuemper is injured

The Los Angeles Kings have reacquired veteran goalie Pheonix Copley to provide depth while Darcy Kuemper is slowed by a lower-body injury
OCTOBER 15 • Associated Press
Day-to-Day Kuemper was absent from practice on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Impact Head coach Jim Hiller announced that Kuemper is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. The veteran netminder has struggled out of the gate this season, allowing at least three goals in all three of his starts and posting an ugly .868 save percentage in the process. That's a sharp contrast to last season, where he posted a sparkling 2.20 GAA and .922 save percentage across 50 starts. With this injury appearing to be minor, the short reset may help him settle in as a high-end fantasy goaltender once again. In the meantime, Anton Forsberg will try to hold down the fort between the pipes for Los Angeles.

Rossi gets shootout winner, Wild beat Kings 4-3 after allowing trio of third-period goals

Marco Rossi scored the fourth round of the shootout and the Minnesota Wild beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 after blowing a three-goal lead in the third period

Gives up three goals Kuemper stopped 23 of 26 shots in Monday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Wild.
Impact Kuemper allowed three goals on the power play, and even though the loss came after a shootout, it means Kuemper remains winless to start the season after three starts. Kuemper has allowed at least three goals each time he's stepped on the ice, and it's safe to say fantasy managers who decided to trust Kuemper are feeling disappointed so far. Kuemper's next chance to secure his first win of the season will come against Pittsburgh on Thursday.

Facing Minnesota Kuemper will be between the road pipes against the Wild on Monday, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Impact Kuemper is 0-2-0 to start the 2025-26 campaign, allowing a total of seven goals on 50 shots (.860 save percentage). The veteran netminder will need to be sharp Monday, as the Wild have potted nine goals across their first two games of the year. Kuemper has a 5-7-1 record, 2.76 GAA and .905 save percentage over 14 career regular-season games versus Minnesota.

Mark Scheifele scores twice in the Jets' 3-2 victory over the Kings

Mark Scheifele broke a tie with 8:13 left with his second goal of the game, Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 on Saturday
OCTOBER 11 • Associated Press
Tagged for three goals in defeat Kuemper stopped 24 of the 27 shots on goal he faced during Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Jets.
Impact Kuemper has had a tough start to his season so far with both of his appearances now featuring save percentage numbers in the .800's. He went 24-of-27 on saves Saturday, good for an .889 save percentage number, and it wasn't enough to pick up his first win of the season. He's faced two tough offenses in the Golden Knights and Jets to begin the season but the Kings would surely like to see the 35-year-old rise to the level of play he reached last season in which he was a Vezina Trophy finalist.

Starting in Winnipeg Kuemper will defend the road net against the Jets on Saturday, according to Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Impact Kuemper stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Colorado. Winnipeg is coming off a 5-4 defeat to Dallas on Thursday. The 35-year-old Kuemper went 2-0-0 versus Winnipeg during the 2024-25 regular season while stopping 37 of 39 shots.

Surrenders four goals in loss Kuemper allowed four goals on 23 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Avalanche.
Impact Kuemper's season opener didn't go all that well, but this was a tough opponent. The 35-year-old kept the Avalanche at bay through one period, but he couldn't do the same in the middle stanza, when he allowed three goals on 11 shots. The Kings still did a decent job of keeping the shot volume down, which has been a hallmark of the team's style for years. That could make it tough for Kuemper to post a high save percentage in 2025-26, but his workload and ability to keep the puck out of the net should still make him a solid fantasy option. He'll likely get the night off Wednesday against the Golden Knights, paving the way for Anton Forsberg to make his team debut for the Kings.

Starting season opener Kuemper will protect the home goal in Tuesday's Opening Night game versus the Avalanche, Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site reports.
Impact Kuemper unsurprisingly gets the nod for the first regular-season game. The 35-year-old had a massive bounce-back year in 2024-25, going 31-11-7 with a 2.02 GAA and a .921 save percentage over 50 regular-season outings. Those numbers will be hard for him to replicate in 2025-26, but he should still be able to see the majority of the starts for the Kings.
OCTOBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Set to start Saturday Kuemper is expected to guard the home goal for Saturday's preseason game against Anaheim, per Zach Dooley of the Kings' official site.
Impact Kuemper had a 31-11-7 record, 2.02 GAA and .921 save percentage across 50 regular-season appearances with the Kings in 2024-25. He's expected to open this season as LA's No. 1 netminder, so he'll probably also get the nod for Tuesday's regular-season opener versus Colorado.

Starting Wednesday Kuemper will guard the road goal in Wednesday's preseason game versus the Ducks, Ducks PA Announcer Phil Hulett reports.
Impact Kuemper is set for his first preseason action. The 35-year-old is set to reprise his role as the Kings' No. 1 netminder in 2025-26 after posting a 31-11-7 record, a 2.02 GAA and a .921 save percentage over 50 regular-season games last season.

Surrenders five goals in loss Kuemper stopped five goals on 28 shots in Thursday's 6-4 loss to the Oilers in Game 6. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.
Impact Kuemper's dominant play down the stretch of the regular season unraveled in the playoffs. He allowed four or more goals in four of six playoff outings, losing the last four games to send the Kings to a fourth straight first-round exit against the Oilers. Still, Kuemper was a good fit for the Kings this season, and if the team retains a strong defensive structure in 2025-26, he'll be a reliable fantasy goalie once again even in his age-35 season.
