Connor Ingram - NHL News & Rumors

Brings end to career Ingram announced his retirement from professional hockey Friday on his personal Instagram account.

Impact Ingram suited up in 134 regular-season games, going 55-54-18 with a 3.01 GAA and a .901 save percentage over parts of five NHL seasons. He played for Nashville, Arizona, Utah and Edmonton. Ingram also played in nine playoff contests. Per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Ingram will go back to school to study psychology after battling with obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression during his playing career.

Falls short in Game 6 Ingram allowed four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks in Game 6.

Impact Ingram kept the Oilers' season alive once but couldn't do it twice, failing to get the series back to Edmonton. The Ducks jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one period, and that deficit was too much to overcome for the Oilers. Ingram went 2-3 with 19 goals allowed on 153 shots (.876 save percentage) across five outings in this series, which will see the Oilers fail to make the second round for the first time since 2021. Ingram is eligible for unrestricted free agency this summer if the Oilers don't re-sign him.

Slated to start Thursday Ingram is expected to start on the road against Anaheim in Game 6 on Thursday, per Patrick Present of The Hockey News.

Impact With the Oilers one loss away from elimination, Ingram came up big Tuesday, stopping 28 of 30 shots. Edmonton will be hoping to get a similar result out of him in Game 6, but Ingram hasn't always been effective against the Ducks. He was 1-2 with a 4.70 GAA and an .849 save percentage across the opening three games of this first-round series.

Keeps series going Ingram stopped 29 of 30 shots in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Ducks in Game 5.

Impact The Oilers jumped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the first period, and that was all the help Ingram needed. The 29-year-old was benched for Game 4 after losing his two starts before that while allowing a combined 11 goals on 65 shots in those defeats. With a win to his name, Ingram seems likely to start Game 6 in Anaheim on Thursday as the Oilers look to extend the series again.

Back in net for Game 5 Ingram is drawing the start for Tuesday's Game 5 at home versus the Ducks, according to Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels.

Impact The Oilers are turning back to Ingram on the cusp of elimination after Tristan Jarry played in Sunday's Game 4 loss. Ingram won the first game of this series, but he has been blitzed for 14 goals on 93 shots through three outings against the Ducks in the 2026 postseason, posting an .849 save percentage and a 4.70 GAA in the process. The Oilers have a couple of moving parts for Game 5, as Connor McDavid (undisclosed) and Jason Dickinson (lower body) are game-time decisions.

Lit up in Game 3 loss Ingram stopped 32 of 38 shots in Friday's 7-4 loss to the Ducks in Game 3. The seventh goal was an empty-netter.

Impact The Oilers' defense let Ingram down in this one, and he didn't do enough to bail them out. With 14 goals allowed on 93 shots over three games in this first-round series, Ingram is playing far from his best hockey. It's unclear how much longer head coach Kris Knoblauch will tolerate this poor performance before considering a switch in goal, but Ingram is probably on the hot seat heading into Game 4 on Sunday. If Ingram gets benched, Tristan Jarry will take over the goaltending duties.

Starting again in Game 3 Ingram will guard the road goal versus the Ducks in Game 3 on Friday, Patrick Present of The Hockey News reports.

Impact Ingram allowed five goals on 27 shots in a Game 2 loss, but he'll get another turn between the pipes. He may be on a short leash for this one, as Tristan Jarry has some playoff experience even though he ended the regular season in poor form. Ingram has still been the better of the Oilers' goalies despite his shaky performance in the last game.

Yields five goals in loss Ingram allowed five goals on 27 shots in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks in Game 2. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.

Impact Ingram was unable to stop the Ducks' special teams -- they scored twice on the power play and once while shorthanded. With eight goals allowed on 55 shots over the first two games of this first-round series, Ingram has not been at his best. Still, the Oilers haven't shown a lot of trust in Tristan Jarry's performance, so a goaltending change isn't imminent, though the team hasn't yet revealed who will get the nod in Game 3 on Friday in Anaheim.
