Brendan Gaunce - Surfaces on waivers Gaunce was put on waivers Tuesday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Impact Gaunce has picked up two goals, four assists, 29 shots on net, 21 blocked shots and 44 hits across 25 NHL games this season. If he clears waivers, he will likely head to AHL Cleveland. Gaunce has four goals and six points in 12 minor-league appearances during the 2025-26 campaign.
JANUARY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Zach Aston-Reese - Hits waiver wire Aston-Reese was placed on waivers Tuesday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Impact The Blue Jackets are now fully healthy up front, so they have elected to run the risk of losing Aston-Reese and Brendan Gaunce, who was also waived Tuesday, to other teams. Should he go unclaimed on the waiver wire, Aston-Reese will report to AHL Cleveland. The 31-year-old has one goal, five points and 71 hits across 26 appearances in 2025-26.
JANUARY 27 • ROTOWIRE
Miles Wood - Scheduled to return Wednesday Head coach Rick Bowness said Tuesday that Wood (leg) will return to the lineup against the Flyers on Wednesday, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
Impact Wood was placed on injured reserve Jan. 1 due to the leg injury he sustained against New Jersey on Dec. 31. The New York native was sidelined for 12 consecutive games. Wood skated on the fourth line with Dmitri Voronkov and Isac Lundestrom at Tuesday's practice, which means Danton Heinen is slated to be a healthy scratch against Philadelphia.

Elvis Merzlikins - Game against Los Angeles postponed Merzlikins and the Blue Jackets won't play against the Kings on Monday since the game was postponed due to severe winter weather in the Columbus area.
Impact Merzlikins was slated to draw the start at home Monday, but the game will be rescheduled for March 9. The next game on the Blue Jackets' schedule is a home matchup against the Flyers on Wednesday, but it's not yet clear who will start in net during that game.
JANUARY 26 • ROTOWIRE
Denton Mateychuk - Ready to rock Mateychuk (upper body) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of his return to the lineup against the Kings on Monday, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports.
Impact Following a six-game absence, Mateychuk will replace Jake Christiansen in Monday's lineup. The 21-year-old Mateychuk has accounted for eight goals, 21 points, 52 shots on net and 63 blocked shots across 44 appearances this season.

Elvis Merzlikins - Set to start Monday Merzlikins was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, according to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers, indicating he will protect the home net against the Kings on Monda...
Impact Merzlikins is poised to return to the crease after leaving Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Ottawa because of an illness. He has been healthy enough to be in the lineup as Jet Greaves' backup for the last two games. The 31-year-old Merzlikins has gone 8-8-1 with a 3.81 GAA and an .882 save percentage across 18 appearances this campaign. Los Angeles is tied for 28th in the league with 2.60 goals per game this campaign.

Kirill Marchenko - Pockets pair of assists Marchenko logged two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Lightning.
Impact Marchenko has two goals and six assists over his last seven outings. The 25-year-old winger is up to 18 goals, 43 points, 146 shots on net, 38 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 47 appearances. Marchenko is a fixture on the Blue Jackets' top line and should come close to matching his 31-goal, 74-point breakout from 2024-25.
JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Zach Werenski - Earns share of blue-line point lead Werenski notched two assists and three shots on goal in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Lightning.
Impact Werenski is now tied with Cale Makar and Evan Bouchard atop the points list for defensemen -- all have 55, though Werenski has done it in fewer games than the other two. This was his fourth multi-point effort in January. For the season, the 28-year-old is at 19 goals, 36 helpers, 170 shots on net, 61 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating. Injuries are the only thing that's stopped Werenski over recent years, and he's managed to limit his absences to four games in 2025-26, setting him up to match his 82-point effort from last season.
JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Sean Monahan - Fills empty net Monahan scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Lightning.
Impact This was Monahan's second goal in the last three games. The 31-year-old's move down to the second line has made it tougher for him to contribute regularly on offense. He's produced eight goals, 24 points, 76 shots on net, 27 hits, 22 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 47 appearances. He's on pace for closer to 40 points rather than matching the 19-goal, 57-point campaign he put up in just 54 outings in 2024-25.

Blue Jackets play the Kings after Marchment's hat trick

The Columbus Blue Jackets host the Los Angeles Kings after Mason Marchment's hat trick against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Blue Jackets' 8-5 win
JANUARY 25 • Associated Press
Cole Sillinger - First goal and point in 11 games Sillinger scored a goal Saturday in an 8-5 win over the Lightning.
Impact It was his first goal and point in 11 games, which is a tough run for a sniper of his ability. Sillinger has never really been able to show off his mitts in the NHL, perhaps because of his middling wheels. His game has evolved into a middle-six buzzer who's not afraid to bang. Sillinger has six goals, 15 assists, 88 shots and 63 hits in 50 games this season.
JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Dmitri Voronkov - Offense slowing as season continues Voronkov scored a goal Saturday in an 8-5 win over Tampa Bay.
Impact It was Voronkov's 17th snipe of the season. Voronkov has solid upside, but he's toiling on line four with Mason Marchment's return to the lineup. We're concerned with the downturn in his production as the season has progressed. Voronkov hasn't put up a multi-point game since Dec. 6, 2025 (23 games). He had 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in his first 28 games, but he has just 11 (seven goals, four assists) in the next 23. Voronkov's fantasy value is limited to deep leagues right now, but a few quick goals could change that and move him up the lineup.
JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Jet Greaves - Wins fourth straight start Greaves made 25 saves in an 8-5 win over the Lightning on Saturday.
Impact The game was orchestral chaos most of the night. Greaves bent early in the second, allowing two goals in 1:29 that tied things 4-4. But then he regained his composure and stood tall, even when the Bolts pulled their goalie with more than five minutes remaining in the game. Greaves has won his last four starts, but we're watching the Columbus net. Head coach Rick Bowness is giving both Greaves and Elvis Merzlikins equal opportunity to earn time in net. Greaves is doing his part to push Elvis off the throne entirely, but the next little while could be messy for starts for both men.
JANUARY 25 • ROTOWIRE
Adam Fantilli - Snaps 17-game goal drought Fantilli scored a goal and added two assists in an 8-5 win over Tampa Bay on Saturday.
Impact The goal snapped a 17-game goal drought; Fantilli's last snipe came against the Ducks on Dec. 16, 2025. It was also his first multi-point game since Dec. 4, 2025. Fantilli hasn't taken the next offensive step forward with his game, and he's likely to deliver a similar total as last season (54). His goal scoring is down, though -- he delivered 31 snipes last season, but is on pace for ten fewer this year. Fantilli is a aggressive, talented top-line pivot who is a gifted playmaker, and he's showing more of that gift this season. He has 13 goals, 20 assists, 140 shots and 71 hits in 51 games this season.
