Avalanche look to extend home win streak, host the Flames

The Colorado Avalanche will try to keep their three-game home win streak alive when they face the Calgary Flames

Beckett Hamilton - Adds four points for Red Deer Hamilton scored a goal and added three assists in WHL Red Deer's 5-2 win over Calgary on Friday.
Impact Hamilton logged his ninth multi-point effort in 13 games this season. He's up to 11 goals, 14 assists and 63 shots on net, but this was his first multi-point outing in his last four contests. Hamilton continues to be a big performer for Red Deer and should be one of the most consistent scorers in the WHL.

Gavin Brindley - Added to NHL roster Brindley was recalled from AHL Colorado on Friday.
Impact This will be Brindley's second stint in the NHL this season. He has one assist, three shots on net and six hits across four games with the Avalanche this year. His recall gives the Avalanche an extra forward if Logan O'Connor (personal) is unavailable Saturday versus the Flames.

Josh Manson - Expected to miss eight weeks Manson (ankle) is expected to miss the next eight weeks, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports Friday.
Impact Manson has a goal, four points, two PIM, 28 hits and 17 blocks in 13 appearances with Colorado in 2026-27. He's been serving primarily in a third-pairing role. Noah Juulsen might play regularly during Manson's absence.

Logan O'Connor - Not at practice Friday O'Connor wasn't present for Friday's practice session while tending to a personal matter, Corey Masisak of The Denver Post reports.
Impact O'Connor wasn't at practice Friday ahead of the funeral for his father, Myles, in the evening. It's not yet clear whether O'Connor will be available for Saturday's game against the Flames, but a better idea of his status could come into focus based on his participation in morning skate. O'Connor has appeared in each of Colorado's last three games, and he's been held scoreless with six PIM and a hit while averaging 13:24 of ice time.

Nicolas Roy - Plucks apple in return Roy logged an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Roy was sidelined for six games due to a lower-body injury. The 29-year-old returned to a second-line role at even strength, playing alongside Brock Nelson and Gabriel Landeskog. Roy could get a bump in offense if he sticks there for the long run. He's already earned five points, 10 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-1 rating across seven outings this season.

Sam Malinski - Contributes pair of helpers Malinski logged two assists, three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact This was Malinski's first multi-point effort of the year. He's picked up three helpers over his last two contests, and he's doing that with next to nothing in terms of power-play ice time. The defenseman has five helpers, 14 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, nine hits and a plus-9 rating across 12 appearances this season.

Brent Burns - Supplies two helpers in win Burns notched two assists, four shots on goal, two hits, four blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Burns has had some trouble getting traction on offense this season. His performance Wednesday ended an eight-game drought, though he started the year with three helpers over four contests. The 41-year-old defenseman has five assists, 19 shots on net, 16 blocks, seven hits, 10 PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 13 appearances. Burns is 45 games away from setting the NHL's ironman record, which he is likely to do as long as his health holds up, as head coach Jared Bednar indicated before the season he wouldn't end the blueliner's games-played streak with a scratch.

Parker Kelly - Pots goal in Wednesday's win Kelly scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Kelly snapped an eight-game slump with this tally. The 27-year-old remains in a fourth-line role, and that leaves him vulnerable to ups and downs on offense. He's produced two goals, four assists, 15 shots on net, 17 hits, 11 blocked shots, nine PIM and a plus-2 rating over 13 appearances to begin the 2026-27 campaign.

Gabriel Landeskog - Strikes on power play Landeskog scored a power-play goal in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Landeskog has gotten on the scoresheet in six of his last eight games. The 33-year-old has four goals and two assists in that span as he continues to offer steady offense in a second-line role. On the year, the captain has five goals, three helpers, 16 shots on net, 22 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 13 appearances.

Nathan MacKinnon - Adds insurance tally in win MacKinnon scored a goal on two shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact MacKinnon stretched the Avalanche's lead to 4-1 during the third period. He has two goals and four helpers over his last three contests as he continues to play well early in the campaign. Overall, the 31-year-old superstar has eight goals, 14 assists, 52 shots on net, 12 PIM and a plus-4 rating across 13 outings.

Jaden Schwartz - Collects two points in win Schwartz scored a goal on three shots and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Schwartz started the year with three multi-point efforts in four games. He then went cold, getting limited to one assist over eight games before Wednesday's breakout following a line shuffle for the Avalanche. Schwartz is up to four goals, five assists, 22 shots on net, nine hits and a minus-1 rating over 13 appearances. He should be a decent source of depth offense from a middle-six role, though the first month of the season has shown he may struggle with consistency.

Nazem Kadri - One of each in Wednesday's win Kadri scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Kadri was shuffled down to the third-line center spot after primarily playing as a top-six winger so far this season. The move worked, as Kadri and Jaden Schwartz each had two-point efforts. For the year, Kadri is up to two goals, eight assists, 33 shots on net, eight hits, five blocked shots and a plus-3 rating across 13 appearances.

Mackenzie Blackwood - Secures win over Devils Blackwood stopped 20 of 22 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Devils.
Impact Blackwood allowed a pair of goals to Connor Brown, one of which was a shorthanded tally. That was the extent of the damage, as the Avalanche's offense put in a good performance. Blackwood has won three of his last four outings, allowing 10 goals on 112 shots in that span. For the season, he's now 6-3-0 with a 2.81 GAA and an .894 save percentage through nine starts. The Avalanche host the Flames on Saturday, which should be a favorable matchup if Blackwood gets the nod.

Impact This was Miner's second game in the AHL, as he's slipped behind Ilya Nabokov on the depth chart for the Eagles. Miner has gone 1-1-0 with four goals allowed on 61 shots. He'd likely still get the call-up if the Avalanche need extra goalie depth at the NHL level, due to his experience.
