Discharged and headed home Tanev (upper body) was evaluated overnight, discharged and will head home to Toronto, the Maple Leafs announced Sunday.
Impact In a scary play, Tanev was injured Saturday after a collision with Matvei Michkov, and he had to be stretchered off the ice. It remains to be seen how much time, if any, the 35-year-old will miss. The defenseman has two assists in eight appearances this year.

Impact Tanev was playing in his first game since returning from a concussion. Michkov's hit might not have been intentional, but he did receive two minutes for interference. Should Tanev need to miss some time, Philippe Myers is likely to draw back into the lineup.

Impact Tanev is no longer in the concussion protocol, but he's still on injured reserve, so he'll need to be activated before the 35-year-old is officially available to return. He has an assist, six shots, two hits and eight blocks in seven appearances while averaging 17:42 of ice time this season. If Tanev does play Saturday, then Philippe Myers might draw out of the lineup to make room for Tanev.
