Having a hearing Soucy will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety for cross-checking Edmonton's Connor McDavid on Sunday.

Impact Soucy was assessed a two-minute penalty for cross-checking McDavid at the 20-minute mark of the third period in Game 3. The 29-year-old Soucy has four assists, seven shots on goal, nine blocked shots and 27 hits in nine contests this postseason. If he receives a suspension, the Canucks could insert Noah Juulsen, Christian Wolanin, Mark Friedman or Matt Irwin into the lineup for Game 4 on Tuesday.

Impact The Canucks were down 4-1 after Zach Hyman scored at 13:11 of the second period, but Soucy helped out on the next two markers to get the comeback started. Although the 29-year-old Soucy was noteworthy offensively against the Oilers, that's a rare occurrence for him. He had just six points (two goals) in 40 regular-season contests in 2023-24, and his last multi-point effort came Nov. 2 when Vancouver earned a 10-1 victory over San Jose. He has three assists in seven playoff outings this year.

Returning Tuesday Soucy (hand) will be in action versus the Kings on Tuesday, Harman Dayal of The Athletic reports.

Impact Soucy has been out of the lineup since Jan. 20 against Toronto, a stretch of 17 games on the shelf due to his hand problem. In total, injuries have limited the 29-year-old blueliner to a mere 21 outings in which he generated two goals, four assists and 15 shots. Mark Friedman will likely be dropped from the lineup with Soucy back in action.

Impact Soucy was already on regular injured reserve, and he's already missed the 10 games and 24 days necessary for LTIR. The 29-year-old defenseman is not expected back until early March, but this move could free up the salary space for the Canucks to make some trades in the near future.
