Lands with Finnish team Wright signed a one-year contract with HPK of Finland's Liiga on Sept. 5.

Impact Wright didn't receive a qualifying offer from Edmonton at the end of June, making him an unrestricted free agent in July. He accounted for 13 goals and 24 points in 60 regular-season games for AHL Bakersfield in 2024-25. The 27-year-old forward doesn't have any NHL experience.

Impact Wright had a solid season last year, scoring 13 goals and 11 assists in 60 games with AHL Bakersfield. However, after not being tendered a qualifying offer, the 26-year-old will be a member of the crop of free agents searching for a new home on July 1. He will likely be nothing more than minor-league depth add for the team that signs him.
