Flyers beat Kings 4-2 in successful return to Los Angeles for Petersen

Surprise starter Saturday Petersen is the surprise starter for Saturday's road game versus LA.

Impact Carter Hart was supposed to be in net, but he hasn't fully recovered from the illness that's been bothering him. Petersen will make his second start of the campaign after last Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Kings in which he stopped 25 of 30 shots. Samuel Ersson will back up Petersen. The Kings rank second in the league with 4.15 goals per game this season.

Loses in Flyers' debut Petersen made 25 saves Saturday in a 5-0 loss to the Kings. It was his first game in a Flyers uniform.

Impact The game was closer than the score suggests. The Flyers were playing the second of back-to-back games and kept the score 2-0 late in the second. The flood gates opened and the score was soon 4-0. Petersen is up while Carter Hart (mid-body) is out. He joined the Flyers along with defenseman, Sean Walker, in a three-team trade that included the Columbus Blue Jackets on June 6, 2023. We don't suggest a big investment in him.
