Officially hanging up skates Clutterbuck officially announced his retirement from professional hockey Wednesday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Impact Clutterbuck's announcement shouldn't come as a surprise after he sat out the entire 2024-25 campaign. Over the course of his 17-year NHL career, the Ontario native saw action in 1064 games for the Wild and Islanders, registering 143 goals and 150 assists. The veteran winger also added another 20 points in 81 postseason contests but was never able to lift Lord Stanley's Cup.

Whether that is from general manager Lou Lamoriello or new coach Lane Lambert, they don't even like to give out if it's an upper or lower-body injury. In the case of Clutterbuck, we know that he had been dealing with a shoulder injury since the offseason, but we don't know if that is keeping him out of the lineup. It may not matter, however, with all of the team's injuries, if they fall out of the playoff picture, it's unlikely they would bring him back this season.
