Signs two-year deal with Kloten Gignac inked a two-year contract with HC Kloten in the Swiss Championship League on Saturday, RDS.ca reports.

Impact Gignac played only 15 AHL games during the regular season due to injuries, scoring twice and adding four assists. The 27-year-old led AHL Laval in 2023-24 with 55 points in 61 games and managed to score his only NHL goal in seven regular-season games with the Canadiens in 2023-24.

He had been getting minutes on the second line and second power-play unit immediately upon his promotion from AHL Laval, but Montreal head coach Martin St. Louis has since moved him to the fourth line and off the power play. Perhaps those moves are designed to take pressure of Gignac, who was a productive scorer with the Rocket. He's expected to finish the season in Montreal, and in time, as Gignac becomes acclimated to the NHL games, he could play a greater role.
